Battle Music

I apologise if this has been brought up before. I have not seen it.

A number of people have complained that Guild Wars music is too bland. Well, I have a solution. Those of you who have ever tried to make a module on the Neverwinter Nights Toolset, whether succeeding or failing, have at least probably gotten as far as giving an area music. The Toolset has two main musics - the normal music, and the battle music. In other words, they make it that when a battle starts, the battle music is played, and once it finishes, it reverts to the normal music.

Perhaps this could be tried for Guild Wars. I am not an overly good programmer, and therefore have no idea if this is even possible, but if it is, it may be something worth looking into.

If it is possible, perhaps there is another idea - I think this may be impossible, but I lose nothing by suggesting it. Perhaps different musics could be made for stages of a fight - 50% health, 25% healty, party mostly dead, party dead, monsters mostly dead, etc. Once again, I will not be at all surprised if either of these two ideas are impossibe - especially the second one - but I am giving it a shot anyway.

I'd like to hear more music in the game.... as it is now I rarely notice it playing or I have iTunes rollin in the background

I was hoping there was going to be some wicked gothic, boss music on the last boss of the game. but no.. normally the evil guy in games score themselves there own dj of music.. gives them that boost of evilness when you hear the music thunder up.. you know then something big is about to happen. Some music's even scare the socks off me, it be good if more themes of music were in guildwars.

mini bosses music, in missions/locations/areas could fade in with the background music, and then fade out after killing the mini boss. its not that hard to do either i did something like that with my game.. i made in school.

But some other places in the world do need there own music, not just repeats of lion arches theme.. that does get annoying after awhile.

Well just the bosses that are significant to the storyline like Justicar Hablion, Markis, Mirror, etc, and not the random ones you find out in explorable areas. Would also be nice for bosses that have to do with a quest given by an NPC.

I've found long missions or explorable areas, especially in the shiverpeaks, have the most mind-numbing music ever. The music on its own is soothing and relaxing, but you shouldn't be placating me when frost worms are exploding through the ground and summit giant herders are stomping the hell out of my friends.

The Guild Wars soundtrack is incredible, but most of the music is very slow. In this age of ADD and with this generation of gamers they should at least introduce faster-pace music.

Also a note: for those who have looked on the Guild Wars website they seem to be offering the ability to buy new songs from a sub-company. I'm sincerely hoping this doesn't happen. I'd rather play my own music in the background for free than have to buy songs from small samples.
