I'm suffering from a condition no ammout of monk abillitys can cure - Guild Wars Rage..

I've just been trying to help my guildmate with the thirsty river mission, and it was the most infuriating thing i've ever done. When we did finally get a fairly decent team with a Monk (which is a miricle in itself) we go into the mission and no-one listens to my advice, or follows my targets and our Warrior thinks he's John Rambo reborn and goes running off in all directions.

I've already done the acension missions and they're making me blind with rage.

Have a heart... we don't call targets for the good of our health.

You guys have 2 people right? One of you pack a lot of disruption and try it with henchies, it should be better than completely bad groups.

I second that. I had gotten to the last boss with just henchies, shows how crappy most players are when it comes to this point in the game.

Well we're both rangers (me and my Guild mate) he's a Ranger/Ele, we tried it with another mate of mine a Warrior/Monk (and intelligent one) who's got end game armour etc and henches, we didn't even get past the first lot. the warrior was still alive but the hero died.

Up to that point? You should hang out in Yak's Bend a bit. People try to get 6 person groups for Stragglers on the Road, I offer them, I say "Just come with me, I'll get henchmen, it'll be easy" but what do they reply? "ROFL! I like people and henchmen are noobs and is worthless!"

Playing with people usualy just results in the growth of my friend's list, no one wants to join guilds that don't have Halls yet, nor do many want guilds at all.

What amazes me is that it is possible to encounter level 20 players in the game who have no idea how the targeting system works! How can you play the amount of time needed to reach level 20 and not know how to call targets?

I understand where you're coming from Dragon - completely. I've been through the BS of moronic-recessive groups once while geting my character ascended (Dunes - 7 groups which didnt listen, 8th group of guys who knew their job, through).

My Monk is level 12 and a couple of days away from ascention. If you havent gotten the quest in another couple of days or have decided to take a break from it, let us know. I'll bring a healer who'll keep everyone on their feet till kingdom comes and i'm sure we'll bag a couple of warriors and casters round here who know the mission and their job.

GL mate.

These players were aided to 20th by the "Guild rush" system where stupid guilds they take their friends 3+ level characters to the ascension and once through are automatically promoted to 20th level.

The problem which remains, is that they still retain their level 3 playing skills.

If you take your time and play through the missions, GW actually teaches you how to use your skills, builds, and spells effectively.

And that's actually being unfair to most lvl 3 players who aren't idiots. Such as the newbie I taught some stuff yesterday, he was a fine player.

Most of the dimwits in the desert are more retarded than the lvl 0 critters in Pre-Searing.

And yet...yesterday I played through a PUG session with my warrior character and this ranger guy kept screaming orders at the rest of us in caps. Kept screaming at the warriors to STAY BACK STAY BACK OMFG STAY BACK.

Thing was we WERE staying back, waiting for him to aggro in a small group, but if the group he aggroed closer has mostly BOWS, what the heck are the warriors supposed to do, stand around twiddling their thumbs while being shot full of arrows? He could NOT understand this. The three warrior types were not going far enough out to bring in more little mobs, but they WERE going out to engage the enemies with bows and the ranger guy was having an aneurism because we weren't OMFG STAYING BACK like he thought we should.

Geeze was that guy annoying.

Trying to do the Dragon Quest (Next Attempt Will Be #5)

#1 - Party at each others throats (complete with leader drawing agro to afk pc / leader trying to warp asap so no signet capture) = Last Dragon Facet (Failed)
#2 - Party died broke up / did not beat / get to 1st dragon
#3 - Party died broke up / did not beat / get to 1st dragon
#4 - Me + 7 NPC's - About to fight 5 dragon facet - Internet Connection Died
*And the only death was me which I was raised and worked off the DP.

All the time before the #4 attempt when asking about adding npc to the hard to find parties (empty slots) = No way it could be done / we would fail.

I did Dragon's Lair with henches right after I ascended, just to see if I could, and beat it handily if unexpectedly . Good luck.

you need interruptions + mend ailment. if you can get two people with these two type of skills, you good to go with henches. interrupt priests and unblind your warriors. i've done it with my r/mo + henches.

I had no trouble at all with Dragons Lair, my PUG sailed through it, it was quite a disapointment after the trials and tribulations of the acension quests.

Well theres people like that for every class, if people don't know how to play they give the class a bad name, i'm not a great ranger, infact i'm pretty average, but i try to help as much as i can.

And people who spam in CAPS should be slapped up side the head with a "Internet Ettiqute(sp?) For the Complete Idiot".

Gyeh.. I'm having a rather tough time getting through the ascension missions. The desert is an idiot trap, no doubt about it, but I can't seem to make it through Elona's with just henchies, I always get so far and then die. So I opt for a human party and most of them don't even get close to how far I get with henchies. It's so depressing

Can i vent here too?

Next time i am "helping" a group with my monk in the ascension missions and a squishy ally decides to tank an enchanted sword, I WILL NOT HEAL HIM until he has got the **** back out of harms way.

I'm sick to death of all the stupid people thinking their lions arch armour can provide adequate defense against a sustained forgotton assault.
So now you know, necro's, ele's, mes's....if you tank, i will let you die so i can concentrate on the people who have intelligence among the group.

Same rules apply to pets that run out when pulling.

Please learn how enemies pick their targets. If you are under attack, swing round behind the warriors and run away. 99% of the time, the enemy that was on you, will latch onto the tank which is deemed as a higher priority target because it is nearer and it is attacking an allied unit.

It's FAR EASIER for the monk to heal a damage absorbing tank than it is to heal an energy sponge with no brain cells.

Thanks!
