I was wondering how the riposte skills work? For both deadly riposte and riposte.
Is it for about 8-10 seconds as long as you have a sword equipped you block any attack and deal damage back? Or is it just one time in 8-10 seconds?
I feel like it almost acts as a stance.
Thanks in advance.

You use the skill, then if you are attacked in the next 8-10 seconds that attack will be blocked and the skill ends. If you are not attacked in the next 8-10 seconds the skill will end and you will have just wasted adrenaline/energy/time/skill slot. If you are fighting enemies that attack then these skills aren't bad, assuming you already plan on using the tactics line. Their costs and recharge times are quite reasonable. If I am not mistaken, it is like an instant attack that ignores armor and blocks one attack to boot. Although it is just the skill damage and you don't hit with your weapon on top of that, hence no weapon damage, or any effects you may have in relation to hitting an enemy. Another downside is you don't control which enemy you reposte. Lastly, no one attacks a warrior anymore these days rendering them completely useless in PvP.
Conclusion:
IF you are a warrior using swords, and
IF you are also using the tactics line, and
IF you are not doing PvP
I would highly recommend using these skills.

no one attacks a warrior in the tombs... in 4 vs 4 this isn't true as much

First thanks for clearing that up.
Second, Monks or DPS elementalists who have a secondary in warrior are attacked quite often. Can riposte and deadly riposte be working, while you cast other spells or use other skills?
I think stances would be more effecient for a build like this as long as you don't use the ones that are negated when you use a skill. I don't have enough skills to really check this out, but was wondering what some people thought.

Both are definetly skills that are worth using for sword warriors trying to do some damage, or as a tactic's attribute to stay alive. The only problem that might occur is the fact it requires a sword so say a monk/warrior still can't use it if he wants to use a rod.

personally id go with bonettis defense for an ele/war or mo/war 75% block chance and 5 energy for each block of course it cost adrenaline which is kinda a downside but if you getting pummeled it shouldnt be to much of a problem.
