12 for each skill tree. However with full attribute points I think 12 and 10 are the highest you can reach with a few points left over to put into somethign else. I'm not sure because I haven't done my attribute quests yet. I'm level 20 with no attribute quests done yet and I have 11 healing 11 smiting and 5 divine favor I think? However there are still 30 more to get. So I suppose you could have 12, 12 and nothing else? Seems like it.

for your primary profession, u can have a max of 16 for anyone one attribute (12max+1head gear+3 sup. rune)
besides that, the max u can have is 12
u can use runes on ur primary attributes to raise them accordingly
minor:1
major:2 health -50
superior:3 health -75
u can also use the head piece armor to raise one attribute by one point
for secondary professions, the max is 12

Using only skill points the max you can train an attribute to is 12, however there are items that can boost if further..
Each class has a selection of head pieces that will give a +1 bonus to one of their stats, also there are runes, that you can use to upgrade a piece of armor that can give from +1 through +3 in a given attribute, but the +2 and +3 runes have a penalty of -50 and -75 hitpoints, respectively.
Rune bonuses do not stack, so having two of the same type of rune will not help, but a rune bonus does stack with a headpiece bonus. So if you train a skill to 12, get the headpiece, then a superior rune (thats the +3 one) then you can get 16 points.
There are also certain skills that give a temporary bonus to attribute lines, theres Awaken the Blood (a necro skill) and Glyph of Elemental power (an elementalist skill).. And there are some weapon upgrades that can give a chance to get +1 bonus whenever you use a skill.
