Im a first time poster here so hopefully i can get a little help. For a while i was playing guild wars just fine but just a few days ago i ran into a problem. When i start it up, it says connecting to arena net but stays at 0%, it doesn't have an error message or anything it just stays at zero. I don't have a router and have my firewall turned off. Ive even tried turning my anti virus off, and my isp doesn't block ports. So im out of ideas, any help?

System Specs, OS details and which firewall do you have?

Also, just switching off the Firewall, doesn't always make all the ports open again. Sometimes they can still be closed in the background, and the Firewall still prevents ports from being open.

Also, have you read any of the many posts and threads in these forums that have exactly the same issues?

It's not so much to do with repeat posting, but there are a lot of threads already out there with the same problems and some possible solutions already in them.

One of those solutions is as follows.

Go into your Firewall settings, delete all references to Guild Wars, reboot the machine and then restart Guild Wars and see if your Firewall prompts you for the Grant Port Access again?

Another option is to delete the GW.TMP file from your Guild wars folder and the Windows/Prefetch folder and restart Guild Wars.

And my last option, is if none of them work, then uninstall guild wars, clear out the Guild Wars directory and any other possible Guild Wars files you can locate, reboot and reinstall guild wars and see what happens.

Other than that, check out some of the others Threads and Posts, as there are many that have other solutions for you to try.
