shield ques

I just got an ornate shield 14/ 8 in tactics req. Anyways i equiped the shield and am using it but just realized I only have 1 in tactics. Does that mean the shield is doing nothing. I just sold my other shield... Is there anywhere you can check your total defence or damage for that matter.Thanx

For weapons it seems to be: only half the listed damage when you don't meet the req. So I woudln't be surprised if it was something like only 7 defense instead of 14 until you fix your tactics...

Not sure about this though and don't know of a way to check this easely. So don't do anything hasted like selling your shield
