Was wondering if anyone knew the corrolation (if any) between how many points you have in your Swordsmanship attribute and your miss rate. I just got IW and was using it with 0 points in Swordsmanship, and I seemed to be missing a lot.

I dont think hit rate is affected by swordmanship skill (unless it was changed) whenever my elementalist uses a sword he hits, even if its just 1 damage.

Maybe you're fighting some kind of ranger monster who uses avoid skills?

You will always land 100% of your melee shots unless a skill changes it.

Many skills give 75% block or evade rate against attacks. Naturally if your opponent is using such a skill, you won't hit very often. Also, being Blind causes you to miss 90% of the time, and there are various Hex spells like Price of Failure that reduce your chance to hit too.

Makes sense. I thought you couldn't miss at all with IW on, though. Is that true?

Hmm, not sure about that. I toyed with a IW build earlier and nobody I fought used evade/block abilities.

Something I think I noticed was that I didn't gain Adrenaline from IW attacks - but it may have just been something like Soothing Images on the target I was attacking. I was kinda disappointed with the build as a whole and deleted the char after fiddling with it.

Yeah, I'm a little underwhelmed by it so far, but the damage can be nice. If I could get a few more skills I need and find a damn +attack speed sword, I'd be set. Although I'm unsure of what armor to use . . .

I think Adrenaline isn't gained because IW isn't a melee attack; it's a skill/spell. So thus, the game doesn't count you as 'hitting' your opponent and therefore you don't gain adrenaline. Correct me if I'm wrong

Illusionary Weaponry in a nutshell:

You don't physically strike your opponent, hence the title "Illusionary Weaponry." The 0 in Swordsmanship doesn't matter at all. You may actually be missing your target (as in causing no damage), but it may be something as simple as Illusionary Weaponry working precisely as it's intended...you're still "hitting" your foe, just not making contact.
