After reading endless topics about grind, farming, nerfs, people who want to farm, people who say it is bad, people who want the game easier, people who want the game harder, I've come to realise that not everyone sees the same things as fun.

In this topic I would like to hear what you think makes a game fun, and any suggestions you might have for how to make Guild Wars more fun for you.

Personally, so far, I've found the game very fun.
I'm in the desert, half way though ascention with my first character. I have a full set of highest level armour all gained from collectors around the desert, and all dyed an unripe lemon colour.
The things that have been most fun for me have been the missions and quests, as well as gaining new and interesting items and armour.
The occasional bit of farming I've done to get the collector items I needed for my latest set of armour was quite enjoyable and actually taught me a lot about tactics when taking on groups of enemies.

To me, it seems that fun is doing new things, and gaining new stuff.
If I have to do the same thing over and over a few times in order to get something new, that's okay by me.

I know there is a limit to the amount of content in the game though, and while I feel I'm still nowhere near the end of the game, I do wonder if it will continue to be fun for me once I've done all the missions, got a perfect max damage weapon and all the 15k armour sets.
According to my current understanding of what is fun for me, it looks like it might become less fun at that time. However, once I get there I might discover that my sense of what is fun has changed.

Please post your opinions on what makes a game fun.

I don't want to hear about what you think is un-fun.
I don't want to hear complaints about grind.
I don't want to hear people bashing other peoples' ideas of fun.

I personaly find the very balanced characters & great pvp to make this game, the best around.

I mean seriously...

king of the hill (OH GOD YES!!--first thoughts when i played the beta... i mean... wow, i couldnt imagine it)

Capture the relic (Those of you that played the beta... when there was that one fort, with the relic up high, and you had to go through the gate, or far around through the forest, the back way)... who else remembers that FUN map, and was it suggested to be not fun/an un-balanced area?)

Guild vs guild battles are Quite nice... although, with this being a Guild game, i personaly think the sigils shouldnt cost quite so much, and should have been alot easier to get... I love the added npc's for the guild battles, makes things alot more interesting... and makes it last alot longer...

** My own personal suggestion**

---I LOVE king of the hill and capture the relic, i would highly suggest that they make arena's for those things, and those things alone... random generator could even be fun, i don't care how they do it, i just want more king of the hill/capture the relic maps, and more of an option to play those maps directly when i want to... (Perhaps a fame rating increase... and perhaps make these only joinable by guilds... like... inside the guild hall, the same as making a guild challenge, just making another button for king of the hill / capture the flag)---

Who else is feeling my suggestion to be "the bomb diggy, like cash money!"?

I never really though PvP would be much of a selling point of this game for me, but I do enjoy Quake 3 a lot, and the idea of playing things like capture the flag, and king of the hill etc does sound somewhat appealing.
So far I haven't played any PvP in this game at all except the obligatory bits in The Academy and the pseudo PvP in the Ascention missions. I've found though, that I enjoyed those occasions quite a bit, so maybe PvP is for me after all.

IfI was going to play a lot of PvP I agree that it would be good to have more options, other than just Tombs, Areas and GvG.

Id like to see more team work required quests. And on that note: Making all characters feel needed with parties. besides hearing "We need Monk" or "Warrior/Monk" and try not to hear "we dont need the dumb rangers, boot them" Some quests where all characters become important to a party is something i want to see.

I just did something stupid. But it was very fun while it lasted.. If you throw your guildwars cd's on the fire it burns funny colors as it melts.

I've seen groups asking for Elementalists. But yes, you rarely see Need Ranger, Need Mesmer or Need Necro.
