What are inks used for?

What are dye removers used for? Can I "salvage" dyes off my armor or off drops? Also, somebody mentioned a warning about mixing dye remover with a certain color... is this possible? I like collecting dyes (no thoughts of using or monetary value, just fun) and I have like 20 or more now... so soon I may start experimenting in mixing... but i don't know yet, I still want to learn more about them (and amass many more) before I start throwing them away on experiments.

To my knowledge...

-Inks are a crafting material unrelated to dye
-Dye removers remove whatever dye is on the selected piece of armour
-You cannot salvage dye off armor; once you use it, it is used up
-You can mix dyes, but will get some weird results, along with different results for different armor. To mix, you "apply" one dye to another (I personally haven't tried it)

You can also mix dye remover with dye and vice versa.

Many color combinations are very logical (red + blue) while others are "wrong" but give interesting colors (yellow + purple). You can mix up to four dyes to create colors. You cannot mix colors to get black.

What do you get if you mix dye remover with a dye? Does this seem strange to anyone else?

U can use dye remover on the original armor colorations...I used dye remover on the Droknar's Platmail "blue" coloration to reveal a gold coloration under the blue.
