Hi,
I did a search on "guild storage" and quite a few posts came up but they were related to guild halls and that it would be a good idea for guild halls to have some storage system.
Is a guild storage system already in place (where players can make donations to the guild storage)?
If not , is a guild storage feature planned for a future patch for Guildwars ?
Sorry if this has been asked a lot before but I really want to know
Thanks for any replies

Yeh it's a great idea, it means you can find rare items, or good items which you yourself wouldnt use and put them in a guild storage. They would have to implement some sort of system so that only officers/leader can access.

I believe Arena Net has mentioned it, but that right now their focus is on getting Observer Mode released.
One idea that I thought was attractive was to either let the Guild Leader decide what level could access it (to only let officers access the storage or to make it available to all guild members) or to have segregated storage, i.e. one storage chest (or whatever) for everyone and another for officers and guild leader.

I am hoping the guild leaders have some sort of controll over the vault when it is implemented (and I fully believe it will be someday) I have had this problem in another game where the vault was open to all members and one day everything was just gone.

I like the idea of a guild vault but I think this would also be a good idea:
Guild members can submit items to the vault and other guild members can buy them at a price set by the leader/officers/maybe donater (reduced price, ideally, for guild mates) and the money goes to the leader/officers as a guild fund.

Why not just make it even simplier than that, if someone wants access to the vault they get logged in and what time they accessed it. Then the guild leaders and/ or officers can reveiw the log and see who logged in last and ask them why everything is gone.

I think a merchant would be better, or actually, I mean a trader that trades all items in the game (of course they dont show if he doesnt have em in stock.)

A guild storage should maintain the ownership of the items on display and some sort of unlocking should happen (like for invite to guilds) so that the "transfer" to a player can happen.
What would be great is an auction house, but that's another topic.

Thanks for all the feedback and its nice to know that it should be implemented in the future.
It does seem some people are miss-understanding what I mean by a guild storage, and what a merchant npc is...
I mean both are great ideas but both perform totally different functions.
NPC Merchant sells any items you give to it, at whatever your set price is. Where-as the guild storage would simply be a place to store items that all of your guild has access too.
I agree that the guild leader should be able to set an access level so only certain groups of players can get access to the stored items however. And if a new member wants an item, they will need to ask for it from an officer and not just pinch all the items themselves.
Its a very real threat that if the guild storage was open to just everyone in the guild, a new member could just come along, ransack the place and then quit the guild never to be seen again.
Anyway, nice to know its being considered by the dev's
