BF 2, im going to get it next week, but funny things is that i got bored of BF 1942 after playing it for 2 months, hopefully BF 2 will keep me interested or else i'll come back to GW

I'll be glad when a game like the one mentioned above does come along to take some of the people's attention away from Guild Wars... gaming communities always go through these cycles and I've always liked it better when the people who are around are playing because they like the game (rather than because it's the new game on the block). Liking a new game and liking an older game are two very different things.

they won't be selling HL 2 soon since the deal between Valve and Viviend is going to be taken off..... soon people that want to get HL2 would have to download it off the website (aka steam)

Basically GW will lose a large portion of Twitch gamers, non RPG gamers that purchased the game because it was advertised as a RPG for Twitch gamers with Full on PvP when BF2 is out.
In the UK GW has only just made it into the top 10, infact it has only just been reviewed in UK gaming mags. GW isn't a big a hit as WoW in europe as a rule of Thumb, which probably also accounts for the fact that american servers are always busy, but europeans are not in comparision. (they are in no way enmpty, just not as busy)

It's a small fringe as far as the pan-gaming community goes, but it is the most vocal at whining and b1tching (by their very nature). I won't be sad at seeing the backs of a few of their ilk on their way out of here.

I tend to think of BF2 coming out as the Great Idiot Warrior drought of '05,
Most of the warriors are teh 12-15 year old kids who like the rambo non thinking class, so hopefully bf2 will take most of them away from guild wars and overall it will be a better place.

Quite honestly, I am really suprised that GW beat out WoW. I figured GW would be another one of those quiet little games that everyone should know about but doesn't. Man was I wrong.

Actually I will keep playing GW, and don't plan on getting BF2. I haven't been this hooked on a game in awhile.

Dont want to rain on anyone’s pared but if you look at the chart GW seems to be in number one spot more do to release timing then being a blockbuster. Pretty much all the other games are over half a year old games, really its no surprise that GW is beating them out.
Not saying that GW doesn’t deserve it just saying really there is no current competition for Guild Wars. It would be more interesting to see how many units sold in the last month that way we could do a better comparison, since by the time real competition comes out GW will be months old too.
Although I do think BF2 will take number one spot form GW probably without a problem since it has a bigger brand name.

You are probably right, although in the UK it never reach No1 and I doubt it will, GTA San Andreas has just been release, and is actually reviewed in the mags on release, which means GW and GTA are reviewed in same mags, and GTA is getting better reviews, so for many who save cash an maybe buy 1 game every couple months, GTA will more than likely be on the shopping list.
Their have been very few good releases, Brothers in Arms is supposed to be good, Boiling Point is supposed to be good if you can cope with huge amounts of Bugs ,Lego Starwars and Psychonaughts are the best titles on release of late.
