Healing Monk Census

So, since Healing (truly Healing) Monks are so darn rare, I figure it would be helpful to all the non-monks out there if there was a list of Healers they could snap up, either for a quick party or for a guild invitation.

If you intend to play as a healer (secondary focuses are fine, but the main focus of your build should be healing or support healing), post your info here.

• Nickname if it's different from your forum name.
• Character name, preferably your healer, that you will sustain in-game (and not delete right away) so people can contact you. Also, any additional contact information you want posted.
• PvE, PvP, or balanced?
• Would you serve as the main healer or are you more geared towards support healing and some extra function (please specify your other function)?
• If you don't have a guild, are you looking for a guild or just a party every once and a while?
• If you have a guild (and hopefully you want to play with people outside of your guild), what is it's name/can we have a link?

Optional information, such as:
- Your secondary profession, and what you use it for.
- The focus(es) of your healing build(s), if it's anything but healing.

Also, guilds looking for monks, please keep posts to a short [intention of wanting monks] and [link to forum post advertising guild and/or guild website] so we don't clog this thread with guild advertisements.

ive ran a mo/ra for a while named Beastmaster Gnome. he is primarily a healer, but i have played around with smiting, pet builds, and so on. i havent played much PvP and most usually PvE but i can hold my own and have turned the tide in several situations. i do not profess to be one of the best monk players out there but i think i do a good job. i have wandered through a few guilds but not really settled yet. most seem a bit too serious or hardcore for my tastes. i am more casual so may not be around all that much, and after retail, this will be the second character i work on. but feel free to add me to your buddy list or something as i am always open to lending a hand.

It occurs to me that I should do this, as well.

- Character name: Fawgre the Seraphic [also reachable at [email protected] or through private messages here].
- Play style: Balanced, but leaning towards PvE until I can get my bearings. I'd like PvP more if I wasn't the Prime Target.
- Main healer in small groups with some protection spells thrown in. Secondary healer in huge groups, focusing on protection and keeping the main healer alive.
- I have a guild, but I'd like to branch out and play with a more diversified group of individuals. Plus, who knows how many guild members are going to be on at any given time.

- My secondary professions are either Necromancer or Elementalist. The Necromancer is for small groups, usually when I'm just pairing up with my warrior friend, so I can help out in the damage area and fend for myself a bit by stealing health. The Elementalist secondary is used for larger groups when I need wards for protection and the Aura of Restoration so I can stay alive.

This is a great idea.......helps us monks out too. It's nice to have a capable monk on your team healing.....it's something else entirely when a monk has to depend on a good team to do all of the damage. There's nothing more frustrating for a monk than when the team gets you killed trying to heal them.

They're all dedicated healers.

I will most likley play a dedicated healer. But not sure yet as I am leaning towards the Warrior/Monk build.

Monk/Warrior or Monk/Mezmer will be the Dedicated healer I make.

Mo/Mesm

Entirely for healing purposes with the mesmer to simply use channeling (to save 1 energy each heal) and a few drain spells (again, to get some energy)

I'm probably going to be a healer as well.
monk/(dont know yet, I guess it doesn't really matter because i'm going to be putting all my attribute points in monk)

I like to be the main healer in small/large groups.
I like both pve and pvp, But I'll do more pve.


I just like the feeling of being a support character, and the group's healer.It's something different too, I mean almost any game can you swing wildy with a sword, but not many can you be a totatlly different role, healing.

Question: My specific needs is to be the groups main healer. Should i bother spending points in protection spells?

I am a true healer.

I play two Monk/Elementalists.
PVP : Ratatass I, Rank 2.
PVE: Ratatass II, Level 7.

The focus for the PvP Healer is monk spells (Healing, Divine -14). I have no defense, all healing. The only spell I have from the Elementalist Line is the Glyph to save some energy.

I am an extremely soft target and very dependent on a support healer if I have two warriors on me. One is fine.

The PVE monk runs a balalnced build. with Conjure flame, Firestorm from elementalist line. The rest is healing. Again - no defense.

Edit: 14 Healing prayer , 14 Divine favor - I guess that qualifies as a true healer

I will be a true healer. Ive been playing MMO's for about 6 years now and have played nothing else but healer types. I am choosing to be a monk/mes my name is Valgard Whitelight, I will play for PvE and PvP aspect of the game and am really looking foreward to it. So far I am not guilded but I am in the search for one or will find one when the game comes out. I think of myself as a very skilled healer and have had many compliments on my mana/energy conservation. If anyone cares to group up I am always willing to do so just send me a message in game. Running pretty much entirely monk stuff, occasionally throw a glyph in there for some extra energy management. Play either healing or protection, depends what the group has need of.

The thing I like about healing in GW is I actually have to work really hard, in other games like eq it was just click...click....click...etc. In GW you have to make split second decisions that can effect the whole outcome of the battle. Sometimes you really have to know your team, like when 2 people die and you only have time for resurrection, you have to decide who is more important.

I have all monks. The two I use the most are:

Katera Luna- Mo/Me: My guild only had one healer, so this was kind of an all around healer He/Pr/DF. Now that we have some additional healers, she will be Healing/DF, and some have mesmer attributes for gaining energy if I am in a group where I may need this. This is also my main RP character.

Saint Haeven- Mo/Wa: Protection and removal Monk. PvP only. I may be changing the secondary, but will keep the name.

I will fill whatever role is needed. I have two additional healers whose names will change upon release. One is an Elem/Mo...half healing/half nuking. It is only around a level 7 since I remade during last beta.
