they are all very cool, the new dancies....
Female ranger break dances.... floor spin edit: I think I was mixed up with male ranger actually. Female ranger is like... ummm...forgot.
Female elementalist does like the mamba or some belly dancing or something
Male Monk is just like thai chi coolness (nothing really special (since it's just like the casting animations), although I still think it owns)
Female Warrior is like jazz kinda dance, with a bit of disco or something.

Female Monk is awesome!
Spooky
I'm not keen on the breakdancing, because it just doesn't seem to 'mesh' with the Ranger. I haven't seen the new female Warrior dance yet, but the female Elementalist and Monk ones are indeed pretty awesome.
Deadroot
They are still working on the dances, but as of right now the female Warrior Pulp Fiction type dance is my favorite
Ti-Ben
Fem warrior is so cooool. Ranger comes close.
Reaper2k3
No clue what male monk does but female monk does capoeira
Uthar
I also recognize some moves from one of the female 8 Drunken Immortals in there, too. (I can't remember her name)

People who watched loved the nude elementalist dance, crazy college kids finding that stuff funny...

Hmm... I dont think that is capoeira that female monk is doing... not like it at all, if u base it on the kick... MANY MANY martial does it... why i say it is not capoeira? because they do a double fist punch the one that go punch above and below at the same time with both hand... and that punch is very very eastern... and also... i have seen too many people do that very very similiar (cant seem to remember that clearly) kata in martial art teams...
lol, previous month i was still like... too bad monk in GW only look eastern with no kung fu or anything... well, they prove me wrong...
oh yea... I wish female elementalist got some kind of feather cap and arm wing or something to do that dance... like las vegas...

The female elementalist does the "we can't have blood and gore in the game due to the rating, but we thought we'd sneak some adult content in anyway" dance.
I like the female mesmer the best.

I like the female monk's dance very much. If only they can apply those kung fu into their skills.

This is my first (and probably my last) post, but I feel like I should at least share this with you guys...

I'm the hot blonde in pigtails and silver dye. <3 ;D

Hah, nice. If I had more time I would have done something like that, even had fraps running while playing just in case I saw something I just had to record.
Monks easily have the coolest dance in the game >.<

Yeah! ;D Don't I look so cute and artistic?
Klael
Lol. That was great. Its a pity the shot of the two monks was too far away. That was the best scene for me.
Freyas
Yeah- the monks at the end looked awesome! Three cheers for the awesome female Monk dance!
Stylin
Thanks guys. Took us FOREVER to get the timing right because of TS delays. Ended up "You go on 1 and a half, I'll go on three" 1 2 3 YAY IT WORKED! lol
I didn't have fraps installed or I would have taken it from first person rater then having a guildie take it. ;( Next time, I promise!

either way if some one wants to research this and get back here to say what they are, go ahead, im not wholly sure, just guessing
Raedar
Definitely not Capoeira. Her moves (and the male monks) were variations of classic Chinese kung-fu (although I believe the female version was a weapons form originally). Capoeira has more of a rhythmic motion.
Of course this is only my opinion, but here is why I have at least some knowledge in the area. My martial arts background is primarily karate. I'm currently working on my thesis in Art History, more specifically dealing with the global and cross-cultural transfer of the arts via means of warfare and conflict. I've done several graduate level papers on the cross-cultural development of the martial arts, concentrating on the root forms and changes made as the forms travelled. Again, I'm by no means the absolute authority on this, but I feel confident in my assessment in this particular case.

It reminds me of Drunken, to me... Especially one of the 8 Immortals, but I still can't remember her name.
Narcism
Pulp Fiction being my favorite movie, the female Warrior took the cake.

Hmm, I still dont understand how is that close to capoeira than chinese kung fu unless capoeira borrow so much from chinese kung fu kata... I mean, I dont see capoeira sitting down in the middle... oh well
According to some source, india had the oldest form of martial art... Chinese didn't have shaolin before buddism were introduce there... Other form of chinese martial art were invented after the shaolin. Which made sense that India might have been the one who first invented martial art. However, even thou chinese didnt invent martial art... they were the most developed in it.

As for the main part of your discussion, there is also some argument that kung-fu is a direct descendant of pankration. While I'm not sold on the idea, there is some interesting factual evidence that lends it's support to the theory.
I doubt anyone would argue that there is any one origin of martial arts. They are as complex and varied as the peoples of this planet. Man's inherent drive towards conquest and domination (don't take that in a negative context) has lead to the development of these forms of fighting in almost every culture that has existed for any extended period of time.

I really liked the river dancing mesmers and the male elementalist is just hilarious (I would spent almost 1/8 of my play time last beta making mine dance) But I think my favorite is the female warrior dance.
