Guild Wars pre-order $0.99 at (at least one) Target

I was in Target earlier today (Crossroads Center, St. Cloud, Minnesota, USA), and they had a bunch of Guild Wars pre-order boxes they were selling for 99 cents. Granted, at this point it only gets you one BWE and one day early access, but it's great to pick up for friends who might be interested in trying the game but don't want to shell out any real dough before they're sure they really want to buy it.

I suspect they won't knock $0.99 off your purchase of the retail game, however...

Dang. I was waiting so long for Target to come up with a preorder because I wanted that Censor's Icon and they were the closest retailer that had it (closest by about 20 minutes, too). I even called them up one day, noting that the preoder wasn't on the website, and they said that they wouldn't be preordering the game.

Lies.

That's still cool. I could pick one up for my friend, and then shteal one of his special items for pay-back =P

I take that back. There's a $1 off coupon in the box! (Yes, I bought one -- I have a couple of friends I'm going to try to lure into the game.)

Hehe, probably not, but $0.99! What a deal (And no, ANet doesn't make any direct profit off of preorders, so there isn't an ulterior motive for my blatant support). Amazon has it at $1 also -- maybe if you order fast enough, they'll ship it to you before the next BWE. But again, like Dreamsmith said, I don't think that the $1 from Amazon would apply to your final purchase either, unfortunately.

EDIT: I just ran to check.. and no coupon in the Amazon preorder box (go to Target!).. and that reminds me.. need to go send someone a key.

Does anyone have a key they would sell me for $2 over paypal? I want to try out the game and I live in Canada so I cannot go to Target.

Heh yeah, i went to EB and the price for a pre-order box was $0.01, yes ONE CENT, the guy even pitched in the penny for me.

Actually I do...maybe I will just go preorder the game...what time is the next BWE? during the day? or is it all day? want to see if I can even make it first...

The final BWE will be all day (Pacific time) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 15-17th.

Lame. I pre-ordered from EBGames, and they said five dollars. Of course, I put down 20 because I was serious about buying the game. The pre-order box still cost a penny, and the guy was freaking out because he couldn't discount me the penny.

Computer: "You cannot discount this item more than it's total cost."

I told him, man, it's a penny, I fished it out of my purse and handed it over to him but he still wouldn't take it and instead fiddled around on the computer for thirty seconds or so trying to get me my one penny discount.

I'm so glad EB is concerned about saving me money.

Uhh... I don't think that's correct. When I went there was a $5 min downpayment on it.

Is it possible to get a game key code only a few days prior to the event?

No I mean to go to ebgames and purchase it upfront, I would still be able to put in the key? or do you just put in the key on the actual day of the event? in that case I could buy the preorder on april.15th and still participate?

Oh yeah, you can put in the key at any time. You can put it in now, and then everytime you open the client it will say "Your account is all ready but there is no Beta event going on right now...." Or, you can put it in on the day of the event. You can buy the pre-order on the 15th, but then again, that might cut into your playing time.
