I hold in my hands "Art of Guild Wars" the book that comes in the Guild Wars Collector's Edition. It's gorgeous. It's hard cover - 6.75 x 9.75 inches. The cover is a full-colour print of an Ascalonian wall mural, which is printed on a matte surface with a really nice feel to it. The bottom 1/3 of the front cover is glossy white, with the words "Art of Guild Wars" sort of "cut out" of the white through to the piece of art beneath. The side seam is a continuation of the art, with a small glossy white "Art of Guild Wars" printed on it. The back is the other half of the wall mural.

*sigh*

I really think you guys are going to love this book.

Oh, a scan just wouldn't do it justice, you know? It's like a copy of a print, and I don't want to risk it looking poor.

I'll see if we can get a nice bit of art showing the cover design, though!

autographed artbook by guildwars' team would be nice...but if i were to autograph(by hand) every single artbooks in collectors edition....my wrist would be burning tired

Sounds neat, but sadly I would only look at it once then put it in my closet somewhere. I felt it would be a waste of money so I will be skipping the CE.

I didn't pre order cuz my mom hates internet purchase so i went to my local Hong Kong stores and guess what the preorder is worthless, it costs 80HKD
(10US$) to buy the preorder box, just the item.... and it doesn't mail it to you or reserve a copy, but when you buy the game it will be discounted 50HKD so basically ur buying the item for 4 US$ and your not allowed to buy collectors edition with the discount..... So im lucky to not preorder and now ill buy the COLLECTORS EDITION WOW YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually it will arrive on or after the 28th. You might get the preorder anytime now, but the CE isn't out until the 28th.

Though I pre-ordered the day it was first available, I had no problem at all upping the ante to CE. Though I did consider just buying both so I could have two accounts.. but that's just excessive.

Oh, ahhh, page count! Dang, it's at work -- cause I'm having the entire dev team sign it -- and I'll have to give you that info Monday. It's not a fat book, not an inch thick or anything, but it feels proportionate, if that makes sense. Oh and nice paper stock, too, nothing cheesy and flimsy.

And guys, I'm not talking here to try to sell the CE. I just wanted to share how excited I was about the book.

As to music, well.... We got a bunch of tracks in recently from Jeremy Soule and oh, dear lord, there is one that Andrew found. He said we all had to stop what we were doing so we could listen. We stopped and listened. Looked at each other. Listened again. Looked at each other and just beamed. I don't know if Jeremy is going to name the tracks, but this one deserves one incredible name if he does. (Track 14 in what we have, but I don't know where it will end up or even what it's intended for just now. It's somehow mystical sounding, with a touch of the sublime and reverential.)

I sure hope Best Buy doesn't mess this up. My BF got my preorder for me, gonna send me my full collectors edition when it comes. But they didn't really have anything to specify which version you wanted, collectors or not. Best Buy has the best price on it, just ten bucks more for the Collectors...

I saw the artbook in the little Collectors Box picture on the GW site, the headphones look cool too, but I want that art book and cloth map...

*will frame the map all pretty like and cherish it and steal her BF's to put on a pinup board to mark where she's been and where she currently is with little pushin pins =3*

Ok so I wouldn't do that to it, but I'd try and scan it best I could so I could do that... Or something... I want to but, man it's going to be too nice to poke with a little pin...

I don't think theres a cloth map with the Colletor's Edition. That was supposed to be in the Deluxe Edition that retailers made up.

please make sure that dev team's wrists are well rested
we dont wanna get delayed release date due to the dev teams not being able to type(because of tired wrist) in order to polish the game

I'll be happy as punch to try that out, and hope a few of our normal teammates have that, cause it'll be easier to coordinate.

I'm excited to get it, I already have a headset, but mine came with karaoke Revolution >.>; and oddly enough doesn't work on Yahoo messenger, SO with this one I can actually use it, I always need headsets for something...

Except this one I"ll take good care of... mwa ha ha ha!

Ok the others I just lose...

Teamspeak costs you absolutely nothing, but the CE does come with a disc that I assume will get you three months free hosting to try it out. From there you could simply join one of the many open servers on TS or use another medium for communication.

I'm pretty glad I actually need that headset, otherwise I might not get the CE. But my last headset died so as it stands I haven't bought a new one in anticipation of Guild Wars CE.

I was curious about that, because TS, it said it woudl come with three months free, so I assumed it would cost something after that to use it on the game...

Rest assured I believe it's supposed to be hosting, which would normally cost money, but the program (And its use) costs you nothing. There are also other programs out there too if you ever feel adventerous.

On a side note, I wish we could get our Art Books signed by the development staff of GW.
