Since it can be hard to find upgrades for your favorite character that are actually used for them (I'm an archer that always finds axe hafts...my luck)...
It would be neat if when I upgrade my icy bow string to an fire string, if there was a chance I could get back the old upgrade. Same for grips, and such.
I like the bows strings, and grips I have, and I'd like to get some old ones back when I upgrade so I could move them to a different bow or give them to follow archers (or sell them). Perhaps a random chance that's similar to getting runes back off old armor?
Would also be useful for upgrading your rune from Major to Superior on your cloths (having a chance to get the other back rather then 100% failure when you acknowlege there is already an upgrade item on that piece of clothing)
