monk/ele beating mirror
acountlost
I am a lvl 18 monk/ele and i am stuck in the part where i have to kill my mirror self. i know there have been many threads but i have tried all of them and they dont work on me. THe most popular methos is to carry balthazaar spirit, retribution, bane, and healing breeze. In my case, i get like 50-100 dmg per shot so that makes the method above impossbile to keep me alive...what can i do??

Maybe you should upgrade the armor you got in pre-searing :P

Try loading a bunch of useless monk buffs, and then a few ele spells to spam him with damage
Just remember your mirror is fast, but dumb as dirt. I did him yesterday, on my Me/Mo by doing that, and just backfire him at begining. He would gleefully cast all the buff spells, and drop himself dead in less than 10 seconds! You gotta keep in mind he will waste plenty of time on useless spells, that he can have no use for there... Meanwhile flare him to death.
PS: Don't bring any healing! If you can heal, he can heal just as well. If you can't beat him before you hit 0, you can't beat him...

I managed to get my monk/ele to ascend on my first try, and I didn't have the best armor out there.
I equipped four enchantments that require maintenance but neither give energy, nor give health (except for perhaps an increase to his max health.. that's okay).
I also equipped pacify, smite hex, orizon of healing, and touch of healing, I think... not sure.
I had intended to get him to cast pacify on me, then smite hex him, but he wouldn't do it. So, I figured, I'll just keep damaging him until he runs out of energy (which was the point of the various enchantments).
Well... I kept a good distance, but so did he. He used a bow against me, and I'd use my rod against him... and neither of us were getting anywhere...
... until I decided to get close to him for some reason.
At that point, he cast the last couple of enchantments (!) which managed to keep him so drained of energy that I had no problems wearing him down.
It was a long battle, but I did prevail using this technique. Had I gotten close to him earlier, I would have beat him much sooner.
I had no elemental spells equipped at all. My monk was set up for healing and divine more than smiting and protection.

well thanks, i tried all the methods you guys posted but i jsut thought of my own little way and got past it. I brought with me 3 attackin smite spells, breeze and retribution. I just tried my hardest to deal dmg and heal at the same time and i did it..haha

I've beaten him twice. The first time I used 7 Smiting spells, plus a useless enchantment. He started off by using the enchantment, then I used all 7 Smiting spells. I died, but he died immediately after from Symbol of Wrath and Balthazar's Aura, and I got the reward. The second time, I used my Divine Spirit/Balthazar's Spirit/Zealot's Fire/Divine Boon/Channeling (although Channeling isn't necessary) farming build and it slaughtered him. He isn't smart enough to spam Divine Boon.

Simple - I had an E/R going in and since you have access to ele side (minus allot of energy)
Gale, Flare, Whirlwind, blinding flash....then some non dmg, non-buffing/healing spells - when you first get in, get Gale off 1st - knocks him down, bust a flare before he gets up, move in close, Gale again, then Blinding flash, flare flare flare flare/whirlwhind/flare flare....just rinse and repeat as your energy allows...you'll have the headstart dmg wise....and its downhill from there.

You only need two skills. First one is fire storm, you should already have that. Second one is Meteor Shower, its found in Ascalon Settlement. Respec to 12 fire mastery, cast those two spells on him and make sure you don't stand in aoe. You can equip some useless enchanements to give you extra time to cast if you want.
