I just took a look at the Korean site, it looks pretty cool, but why is it different than all the other Languages listed, rather than just like the others?

Is the parent company of ArenaNet or something in Korea? It just kind of struck me there as odd, meh, I'm just curious...

Also, off topic a little, has anyone else been seeing the Riverside Inn Board oddly? The alignment seems to have gone out the window and the Topic Names seem scrunched to me, thats just happened on this specific board that i can tell... I'll get a screenshot if anyone else wants to see exactly what I mean...

EDIT: Here's the Link that shows a picture of the forum, I hope this isn't just a random glitch on my computer somehow...

Messed up Riverside Inn Forum Page...

I think the people at NSoft had something to do with it... from what I can tell the same people that did the Linage II Korean site, did the GW Korean site. But whoever did it did a nice job...

NCSoft is publishing Guild Wars. As it stands, NCSoft is situated in and a giant in the online gaming industry in Korea.

Messed up images: blame THX, he has not uploaded one of the images [or configured correctly]

Ah thats what I figured, huh, so that explains it. I noticed on some of the bigger post pages getting to the Reply button is impossible, due to an image blocking it. Iv'e seen the same image, bottom of the page thing, in the middle of the Guild Symbols page as well... and a few other random places...

Any idea what program is used to make the page? I used to have this problem with Publisher, no matter how hard I told it to have the page be longer, it cut it off at a certain point and shoved everything up into existing text and such, it was a huge mess...

The next time you have the forum issue, can you look to see if where there should be a thead icon there is a line of text? If there is, could you copy and paste it, and send PM it to me?

And as for the Korean site being different than the rest, this is due to the availability of high-bandwidth internet access. HiSpeed is still relatively limited in North America and Europe, yet it is widely used in Korea. Heck, I'm on cable and the Korean site still takes half a minute to completely load.. imagine how it is with a 56k modem? If Koreans did not have the same cable access ratio, they would have a similar site as North Americans & Europeans have.

You forgot to mention that there insane about competitive gaming, I've heard of them killing over it. Stealing to feed the addiction ect,. this ain't no game they have on market here its a way of life.

Thats why they have a different website plus the above reason but they wouldn't have all that high speed if they weren't addicted to the games.

I found it interesting that the china, taiwan, and japan sites have no GuildWars link from the main page, although I only glanced at them for icons. Just surprised me.

*Edit* And to think North Korea would go to all this trouble just to get GuildWars

The korean site has a terrible color scheme, the colors just clash too badly for my tastes. Tan and blue etc... wtf?

No thanx, Ill stick with the english site.

Yes i hate that bug too, the workaround is to upsize/downsize the window, then you can upsize/downsize it again, and that bar should go to the bottom.

Korean site is all bloat and chaos. Whoever made it needs to learn something about usability and not go all bling-bling. :/

Yes, it is. ArenaNet is an American company (located in the Seattle metro area), but it's a wholly-owned subsidiary of NCsoft, which is a Korean company.

I had no idea Korea was that bad... and I'm on 1.3 MBits p/sec here. I've heard of up to 5 though...

My bf is faster than me, downloads at 200+ kbs/sec, I just get 120-180 o.o;

but I wont' complain, i'm in a sparce area, we have a 75 ft. tall tower right next to our house to get our internet. I guess its wireless cable or something, nto sure what to call it...

We HAD to get faster net, with three of us on all the time, anyway... It does seem a bit flashy, the site, and it takes me just a few seconds to load it fully o.o;

Hrm... remind me never to gloat if I beat a Korean at a game, I'd be afraid of finding a bunch of them infront of my house one day to kill me and steal my stuff o_o;;;;;;;;;;
