Well, I wouldn't pick R/W. You can only use a Sword/Hammer/Axe OR a Bow, so if you pick R/W, you will be unable to use both Marksmanship AND Sword/Hammer/Axe Mastery.

Well not really lots of choices there, Necro prime tends to be a rather "annoying" primary class. I don't know if i'm missing something, but they strike me as "inapropriate" for PvP just like Mesmer tends to be "inapropriate" for PvE. I used inapropriate because, well you CAN make something creative out of it, but you will feel like you're being punished all the time. Necros good stuff require corpses, how many corpses do you get in PvP [consider the fact you won't be the only Necro there] , the other good stuff requires to give up lots of health leading to a vicious circle of requiring corpses/minions to heal to give up more health to do damage....and in the end you wonder why the heck didnt i pick monk primary to heal myself properly.

I'd probably consider W/N instead of N/W if i must :P [you will lack energy though, but there are a few good spells to pull off].

Correct me if i'm wrong: Necro Primary Statistic [Soul Reaping] requires "things" to die to be of any use right? PvP sadly do not generate enough deaths to have a big impact [last i checked] as opposed to a Monk or Mesmers Primary Stat.

Of course for PvE only, totally different story. Then i'd probably give Necro prime a shot combined with all the minions to leech from [but again, i still havent found a good reason why one wouldnt pick a Monk/Elem/Mesmer primary with Necro secondary instead].

I have a level 19 N/W (Will be 20 by tonight hopefully) and with the right skills, he can solo just about anything. I put 13 points in Blood, 10 points in swordsman ship and 5 in soul reaping. Skills I use are Vamparic Gaze, Vamparic Touch, Galrath slash, Sever Artiry, Gash, Rez Signet, Unholy Soul Fest, Well Of Blood. Heres how it works: My main damage is my first two skills, life drains, while I slash and attack with my Firey Dragon Sword. On a good day you can do well over 60 damage from a single sword swing on a n00bie monster. The drains should keep ya healthy, and the swordsmanship attacks should do more damage. If you get into trouble and your surrounded, use Unholy Soul Fest to rank up alot of HP. If your party is closely grouped and suffering, use Well Of Blood for a VERY nice regen at the cost of a dead body. So far I haven't had any real trouble with this guy, except for energy but a grim cesta has solved that. Give it a shot, you might like it.

R/W can be fun, if you want a warrior type. The armour is good, the expertise makes energy based attacks spammable. You can use apply poison if you want to add some degeneration. Look for threads on R/W builds for inspiration if you want to try it, but it will play like a warrior most likely.

R/W and N/W are both excellent PvE builds, both with excellent tanking ability. R/W uses dodge/whirling defense/lightning reflexes to reduce the damage they take to almost 0. N/W uses blood magic to replenish their life extremely quickly. Whichever you pick is up to you, but keep in mind that neither is that great for PvE.

Personally I like N/W for PvE a little better.
