this is something I wouldn't use or am not interested in so don't add it pls!!!

Has anyone else noticed that people will argue a suggestion that would not affect them? All sorts of things, salons as money sinks, mounts, miscellaneous items, etc. These are additions that would have no effect on the players who choose not to use them and no positive bonus for players who do use them (mounts is debatable, but there would be no bonus if it was an end-game reward).
If I said "I have a suggestion to take away Dwarven Ale" then everyone would have a right to argue, it's a subtraction. But if I made a suggestion to ADD Krytan Wine, why would anyone argue, it's an addition that only affects those who choose to use it...

people like to argue, but I like the ideas of different liquors based on region- like ascalon grog, dwarven ale, crystal desert mead, maguuma brandy

at risk of further turning my "whine against whiners" to an alcohol thread, I think that's a great idea. Maguuma Brandy would be cool, although Brandy, like wine, is a more refined drink and so I would expect it out of Ascalon or Kryta. I would also like to see Charr Piss (somebody mentioned it as a choke, but a great idea) as really cheap alcohol that gets you drunk fast but probably has some health detriment and energy detriment (like exhaustion). In fact, starting a thread on this now in suggestion section

I still say that you should be able to hire a Donkey like in Dungeon Siege.

The logic behind these arguments is that there's a finite amount of developer time available. Any amount of that time spent implementing your ideas is time that won't be devoted toward the features that they want. This, of course, presumes that the devs would consider addressing their wants in the first place.
Sure, it's self-interested, but aren't we all?

Tell you what? Get the PvE'rs to stop rabidly opposing UAS, and I'll stop taking down your mount threads.

Mounts aren't necessary, I mean what would we do? Ride our mule/moa/bear/etc into the middle of the Charr army, hop off and fight like usual? I'd think we'd get destroyed due to being unarmed before we can dismount.
SInce we can merely map around to places we've been, a mount is really uneeded. Unlike in Morrowind where one would be really helpful, here we dont' have to walk everywhere, technically.

The only thing 'wrong' with it is that the developers have to spend time on it, and the devs can only spend so much time at once on updates/features. Really the only gold sink that would be more or less universally agreed on would be guild hall updates. Otherwise, most peoples reasons, which aren't necessarily bad ones, is that it distracts the devs from more important issues like improving the end game of gw, pvp, etc.

Ideas like Saloons and organized casinos are fun but you have to wonder, is it really enough to create a decent money sink ? If you don't HAVE to do it then lots of people simply won't. Then you've just spent hours of developement for something that's both cosmetic/useless and unused. People might argue it in the wrong fashion but that's the motive behind it. I still have my reservations as to why the Ale concept was added.

And why the reservation for the Ale concept? I doubt it took much time putting it in, if anything I'm sure it was a welcome fun break for the devs to put in. Sometimes they put stuff in because they want to.
And while it is tiring to see the same old topics popping up, you'll just have to deal with it. It's not wrong for different people to bring up topics that have yet to be resolved. Man you IQ people really do have control issues.
EDIT: Oh and speaking of old tired lines. Stop with the lame Counterstrike arguments. We've only seen it used a billion times before.

And like whats already been said, the only problem with these small updates is it takes up precious development time, that could be used on bigger, better updates.
