Okay I tried this mission 4 times last night with 3 different PUGS.

We always got to the point where we freed that woman and need to escort her to safety. Every single dang time we would start running and some party member would stop to fight some mobs. The NPC would also stop to fight, then the Mursaat would catch up and kill her and we would lose.

Usually the entire party would try to RUN and not fight, but ALWAYS at least one person stopped to fight. Grrr.

Should the entire party stop and kill each mob so that the stupid NPC will move along? Or should the entire party run and hope the stupid NPC will see we are running and will stop fighting?

How do ppl handle this mission??

She does not graps the concept of running. She will always stay and fight. You need to kill all the monsters on the way, and you have to do it before the Mursaat catch up. Good luck

PS: The first two groups are the hardest. Make sure to kill very fast! After that, its kind of a breeze. Especially if you make decent time on them.

Uhh, perhaps before you release her, blow the exit gate, clean out the mobs, then go back and get her?

*that* sounds like a plan! Kind of annoying to make a mission where you are expected to do the job out of order due to st00pid NPC AI.

What's funny is that just before she engages in a death struggle with the first mob she sees, she entreats us to "Do not stop for any reason".

When I did that mission, someone from the group just told us to blow the gate toward the exit (do not free the girl), stay in the cave and one party member go to the cross road and get back in the cave, the mursaat will exit and follow their usual path (clearing dwarfes as they go) and they got kill few minutes laters in a balista hit.. then follow them, clean the mantle and the remaining dwarfes...

You can go to the boat without the girl and at the cutscene, she will be at your side anyway..

lame way to finish the mission, but hey, it was the 3rd time that day and I was bored

I have done this mission about four times.
1. engaged a patrol of mursaat. (two hit kills)
2. engaged a group of jade armor (I was last to go down, the last jade had 5% life, but he also had a 10-life degen spell)
3. got to freeing her, but then we spent a minute wondering how to open the gate, and then against the first mob on the way, half the people ran past and engaged the second mob.
4. entire team got killed by the first catapult.

I like the idea of opening the gate before freeing Evennia, as that would take a lot of time off the last part.

when I do it with my Ranger I drop Barbed Traps as we go in the more narrow areas

the only effective use of traps I have SEEN is the rockshot devourers in the desert, flame (fire?) traps are the most annoying traps.

I thought of that for the ice caves of sorrow, and I haven't used it yet, but it sounds like a good idea to get a head start, although it probably wouldn't cripple them all.

yeah, I wasn't sure if it would, but normally I see them at the edge of the radar near that first battle, and they weren't there. I'll have to do it again some time and sit back there to see if it works..

maybe it crippled the front ones and they blocked the ones in back, haha..

i haven't had problems with that mission.

a good tip is to NEVER FIGHT THE MURSAAT WITHOUT INFUSED ARMOR.

The Muursat that chase you to the boat are initially blocking the way to the king to report that you found his captive (sorry I forgot the names)
Blow tha last gate and get them started on the path to destruction.

If I remember correctly, othe than the entrance, ther are three exists from the cave.
The first 1 has all the bad guys on the other side - you can't get this one open.
BTW Don't sdtand too close to the gate or the bad guys will stab you through the gate.
The second gate does not have any one on the other side. Take 2 kegs of powder. use 1 to blow open that gate, go up the hill to the cage and blow it open. The bonus giver is inside.

The third exit leads to the cative chick and the escape gate.

Pay attention to the path. At one point you can go clockwise around a hill or counterclockwise to aviod getting smashed by the catapult.

The bonus can be done with henchines. I did it that way. I was in a PUg to do th emission so during my bonus run I didn't really care weather I died or not (it was getting late) so I diod the Noob warrior rush and attcked all the bad guys singlehandedly. Got killed very quickly.
