I feel that all this talk about new areas and things
internopsp
Are going to be just talk
I mean how can we influence what a big company does? Just because we post alot of kick ass ideas make them real? i would love even 1/4 of the ideas here to be implemented but the fact is barely if ANY of them will be
why? who knows
if i ran a company like anet or blizzard i would be on forums 24/7 talking to people and asking what they think could be improved and etc... not sure why no one else does this.

How do you know that they don't?
Why do you think that you are better at getting customer feed-back than others? Maybe they just want to get information without having to start the thread themselves, a more pure thread.

Actually, A.net does pay close attention to it's fan base. There are several ideas that have been posted on these forums as well as others that WERE implemented in the game.

If tons of people stopped playing the game (like I did lately) they would probably do something about it.

Keep in mind that game developers can work up to 120 hours per week during crunch time. Game development is a real industry with real jobs. You can't expect the game designers and programmers to pay attention to every idea ever posted on the various forums listed on GuildWars.com. NCsoft would need to hire dedicated community managers, like Obsidian Entertainment did, in order to manage and process the countless number of ideas presented on a single forum.
What's that saying? Ideas are like...

If they dont listen to people or they dont read forums like this one, How come the time i offered a game suggestion to costumer service they responded fast and just to show this was their replay
Thank you for contacting Guild Wars Support about this. We encourage you to consider posting your suggestions on one of many of the Guild Wars Fansite message boards. The Guild Wars Support Team
This means they are monitoring this fan sites for peoples reaction to the game. Granted they cant posible make EVERY suggestion happen. Not everyone likes what you like. And speaking about Blizzard, since you mentioned them. With my past experiance with them they are the worst company I've ever heard of at costumer service. But still the manage to shut down and sue at least 5 major web sites that produced hacks for their games like Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft. The dev teams do listen to ideas and do monitor this forums.

Anyone who has been playing for at least a month and been on the forums (I suspect that it doesn't matter which ones) for that month would realize that Anet listens.

its not that simple when u think about it.
they have to think over the ideas before they do anything, and maybe someone allready got the same idea and got the legal rights for it.
maybe they think you may put them in court later when you claim they stole ure idea.
then they have to impliment the thing into the game, that costs money.
companys dont like spending money unless there r some serius gains.
and last, ppl dont like beeing told what to do.
they prolly get 1000 emails everyday..
there is a reason u cant just write a script and send it to a hollywood director fx.

Why are we all responding to this guy? It's pretty clear he didn't think about this for more than a second before making a thread on it.

And one more thing...
Have you ever written a program? Do you think it's just a magic wand you wave and, presto, the change is made? Writing code and making sure it works is not an overnight thing. Then there's quality assurance, testing, and then more testing.
This doesn't even include the meetings trying to discuss the issues, the hacking problems, the bot problem, the farming problem, the game balance...
It's easier to point fingers at problems. It's harder to fix them. People just complain, complain, complain. If you're not happy, quit playing. Buy another game. Maybe you can find something else to complain about that new game.

myself I think they've been quite effective... and they've responded with patches and updates rather quickly.
