why take ascalon armor into fissure/UW??

This is something that has started to piss me off as a Monk who recently (last few days) started fissure and UW runs. First of all, if you have a monk, don't call them a noob if someone dies. I must look like a complete @## to half my parties because they yell at me, I call them all noobs and I leave. Heres the thing, YOU CANT HEAL AN ELE WITH ARMOR FROM ASCALON!!. I mean fissure its almost possible (if your group isn't sitting in elementalists firestorm) but when it comes to UW and a bladed aatxe its wacking away at a poorly positioned Ele? Please! Then these characters wearing ascalon armor generally speaking have no idea how to play these areas and readily run off into 2 mobs at the entrance of fissure. Wow 3 warriors died simultaneously. How does that even happen? Oh wait, incenerary bonds + firestorm + fireball (really???).

ascalon armor is like that crap that reduces attacks with a blanket effect, using more than one is useless

Just another reason to stay away from PUGs if you can.

FoW/UW are high end dungeons, they are ment to be challenging even for a well coordinated, well prepare, and well equiped group. You really should try to get your guild as a whole to do FoW with you.

If you find someone who is really good at leading... (and very good at finding people who would follow him)... that PUG group is going to be something... something you can know is that usually a good leader will understand to communicate often with the group before going in.

Don't enter without communicating.
Don't enter with people without droknargs+ armour.
Don't enter without talking about skills and strategy.
Leave groups that don't respect "not ready".

You are the monk, if someone is a "lost cause" to heal - don't.


I can't belive how many people get pissed of about some stupid PUG that they never should have entered mission/map with in the first place.

Now it will not stop you from getting rotten eggs in your basket from time to time - but at least make an effort.

well, sometimes people enter the mission immediately after you get invited

happened to me today in Tombs. i got invited to a party i didn't know. i was the final slot. then, i was asking if the party had TS/Vent and trying to find out if they were just bunch of random newbies or not, because if they were i woulda left before they started. as i was typing that question, the leader typed, "everyone ready, good!" and then started the mission about 10 seconds after i had entered the party

and that's happened to me many times in Tombs, from many different people; so it's not like such idiocy is just an isolated incident

try to take a team with only guildmembers thats much better

Welcome in the standard PuG nightmare. As a monk, you have the ultimate lever. Just say "yell again, and you get no more healing" and the rest of the trip is relaxing.

I think that they should make it so that you can't get into the Underworld of Fissure of Woe until after you beat the game on THE CHARACTER THAT YOU ARE USING. Almost everbody else just dies and you waste 1K gold and have no fun with that lvl 15 W/Mo who dies in 2 hits.

How do you know which armor they use? My Ele just ascended and my armor does still look the same as the first I bought in ascalon...

My guess is because they get sneezed on and they die
