Ok, from what i can gather Aiden is the Ranger, Cynn is the Elementalist but what is Devona ? She starts out swinging an axe, but she doesnt look like a warrior. Anyone have a better explanation to what all 3 pri/sec classes are ?

Devona is the dual wielding sword user you see in the video and load screen.

Edit: oops, you're on about professions, in that case Devona is the super-special-expansion-profession.

Further Edit: the above edit is of course, pure speculation on my part.

In the Lore Devona is just a Warrior, but since that isn't actually the game she can have special ablilities.

Is she Gwen's mother? I don't know.
Is her hair wierd? Yes.
Is she hot? Apparently.

On the topic of professions can't she just be a warrior?

I don't think any class can dual wield and therefore she would not be a warrior according to the game mechanics. However that may not be true, I'm only guessing from rumor and a very long gone Guild Wars beta event.

Yeah, technically you can't dual wield, but hey, you also can leap/fly over giant demons. We have to give some leeway.

Doesn't she use a hammer in-game? I must be going senile -- I do that quest where you fight the grawl with her each beta, but I'm not certain what weapon she's using...

In the lore it talks about her using a hammer about once. Right before she's says, "Devour this!" to a.... devourer, very clever I'm sure. She does not use a hammer in the trailer at all.

EDIT: I just watched the movie again and boy howdy is it swell. My favorite part has to be when the meteor storm is called down and the big boss man takes 2 to the chest.

Her hair looks better in the posters IMO.

She looks 10 times better on the posters (all 3 characters do), and in the CG movies they made her ugly. I wish they would have kept the same appearances of the characters for the CG movie.

Hello all.

For everyone who is wondering, please read the "Lore" section of the official Guild Wars website here. If you read it, you'd probably notice that the very first lore story calls Devona a "warrior."

Hmmmm....
Dual wield = carrying a weapon in both hands
Weapon = item that is used to attack with
Ele/Nec/Mes/Monk = magic attack
Focus/Wand/Staff = items that increase/deal magic attack
Last BWE = MissBunny was holding a small staff in her right hand and a focus in her left
Dual wielding is possible

And yes, I think she's Gwens Mother. And Aiden is the father, I think (Gwen and he both have darkbrown hair).

This thread is getting out of control. Question has been answered, and now it's just going off topic.

Just to clarify, there is no duel wielding in Guild Wars. A staff is a two-handed weapon, a wand is one-handed. A focus is an item that primarily increases the energy pool of the holder. There can also be modifiers on the foci, yes, but whatever increase in damage given by certain modifiers are passive benefits that have a possibility of increasing the damage done by the weapon that you're holding on the other hand, or to the skills/spells that you're using. So no, they don't count as weapons.

And NO! Devona and Aidan are not Gwen's parents. Listen to Gwen next BWE, and she'll tell you.

Thread closed.
