Is something wrong with my elementalist?

My character is a monk/elementalist, level 8, and I just noticed that all of my elementalist skills are fire based. Will the air, earth, and water skills come later or did I screw something up?

Fire is the first element that comes. The other elements come later I guess.

Are you in post or pre searing? Even in Pre searing, I can confirm that there are other elements as well. When you press K, click the tab above and choose attribute. Then it will split between attributes like fire magic, water magic, then you will really see which is which element.

In Pre-Searing you get Flare and Fire Storm as your Fire Spells. You should also receive lighting Javelin and a couple others (don't remember off the top of my head). You have to travel to Foible's Fair and then into the snowy portion of the map to receive those. Just make sure you do all of the quest. If you are in presearing still, just talk to one of the skill people and ask for directions to people in your primary and secondary.

Oops! I do have the javelin skill and that is an air skill.

I am in post-searing Ascalon now. What I want are the earth and water skills. Can someone confirm that those skills come later?

Thanks.

I started my Second Elementalist last night (I just found this little town in the South East section of wizards folly with my ranger the day before .) So is this Earth/Water trainer down there (I was too tired to run all that way to check last night) or is he somewhere else?

I'm pretty sure that there is no trainer in Pre-Searing for Water/Earth. No trainer is offering my Elementalist any more skills and I only have Fire and Lightning skills.

there is a temple just up that mountain from this small town with a elementalist trainer there.. This is were you obtain more elemental skills and if memory serves me right with all proffessions you learn at least 1 skill of each attribute you can use with each proffession and this does not exclude elementalist

That's what I thought, I just hadn't found it yet. I'll wander around a while when I get off Work tonight. Thanks for the info, I'd rather not waste those precious Skill points to buy them later.

(a) Yes you will learn more skills the further you get into the game, either buy reward for a quest or from buying them at a skill trainer.
(b) Fire is still the predominant magic you have but safe to say you will gain TONS of skills in all of the other magics too.
(c) In pre-searing you get just enough to get by since it's designed more as a tutorial area versus training you for what the REAL game is...Post-Searing.

lol.... dont listen to the people that post about skill points. if you take the game slow and explore you will have more than enough skill points to get anythign you want

i have never been out of skill points in the game all the way through right now.. and i have even bought 8 capture spells that cost 1 skill point each.. the people that run out of them are the ones that just run through the missions to get further in the game and dont level up. seaing people in the crystal desert at level 14 is a joke and i dont know anyone that would in there right mind let them join your group to do a mission. I reached level 20 right before the Wild and have recaped level 20 at least 8 or 9 times

Haha, I'm just now to Shiver Peak with my main Char. (I was halfway To Kryta but my friends in my guild keep telling me to wait for them to catch up. ) I've only used one skill point for my Res Signet. I plan on changing my Secondary with him to a Elementalist after I get all the Mezmer skills, so If you're gonna be changing your secondary I'd say it'll be worth saving your skill points.
Anyway about how far into the game do you have to go before you can get good Water and Air Skills? (My elementalist is just past Searing and has done all the Old Ascolon skill missions.)
