I started playing about 2 days after the Guild Wars shipped.
Played 4 chars to the Perdition Rock and few more, and i think i played about 250~300 hours but I didnt find a SINGLE Superior Rune drop

Is there a perticular area where they drop them??
Some says they found about 10 Superior Runes from farming Tengu in some area in 5 hours... and that makes me very sad indead

And they refuse to tell which area that is :/
That makes me feel like an idiot...

I've only found 1 from 220 hours of game time.

Its random... that person could have been lying... also how sad is that? Farming an area for hours on end like that.

I have been playing since release, and I have gotten 0 superior runes. I also dont farm for them, I just play the game. I have gotten alot of Major runes though.

Because they're afraid if it gets out too much, ANet will nerf that area.

I wouldnt worry about it. I never find superior runes in straightforward play either. Now that rune traders are in place, the prices on runes have dropped so it should be a bit more affordable. If you really want to farm for superiors, try joining a guild or make good friends with someone that knows the best farming areas for them. If that doesn't work, you can always farm the gold easy. Just find a spot that you can solo without dying and still make 5k-10k gold an hour.

I've found 3 Superiors, but 2 of them didn't salvage out.

people, by nature, are collectors....think about all of the things you collect....why would you expect it to be any different in a game? Some people enjoy collecting and selling...who are you to say how someone should play a game THEY spent THEIR 50 bucks on?

I have 2 chars that completed the game, 1 just ascended and 1 in the desert area.

I played way too much and did only farm for the first time 3 weeks ago (or something). I didnt farm heavy, only like 6 times in Nebo for Ettins and 6 times in Riverside for Hill Giants. From the farming I got several golden armors of which I sold one. That one was a superior ranger thing.

From just regular playing I got my first sup last Monday: a sup expertise.

So, that is not very much...

i found one sup so far a superior absorpsion i gave it away to a friend i didnt knw how much it whas worth so im a bit mad now.

3 in total, a wilderness, beastmastery and hammer. That's for taking 4 characters past ascension and farming for a while to get 15k armour for one of the characters. For a lot of time put in that is a woefully low number, I cant imagine grinding to unlock them all for pvp.

I have none since release. I didn't start farming til the first of the nerfs came cause I didn't have any good chars for farming. I was more interested in skills and didn't see the nerfs coming.

I have one character ascended and one that is just now getting to Lion's Arch. In total I have probably logged about 60-70 hours of play and I'd estimate that five of those hours were spent farming Ettins. I have unlocked zero superior runes. Of the minor and major runes I have unlocked at least 90% of those were from farming.

I've been playing since release and still no superior rune drops. Same thing for my cousin. And I did farm for runes before the nerfs, just not excessively.

i've been in a party where one dude got 2 drops of superior runes. i always seem to get the ass end of the drops, even though i deal most of the freakin' damage real quick, and then the person who gets the drop only hits a foe once or twice before killing it.

as for myself getting any superiors....i've gotten none, a very few majors, and craploads of minors that nobody really uses. then again, i've only been playing for roughly 150hrs since buying the game a little over a month ago.

I got a Superior Vigor in about 70 hours of play, it was a gold armor drop and was excited to see what i got from the salvage...I began singin the theme song to the donald trump reality show The Aprentice "money money money money!"

It sold in 5 minutes for the sum of 90k! which i then used to buy the 15k armor, black dyes! Major Rune of Fire and a Major Rune of Vigor! since that gives you 41 hp for some reason

I can live with being 9 hp shy of the vigor max.

From Release... Over 30 easy , 2 sup vigs , 2 sup absorps and mostly every single other sup rune , except marks. My first sup rune was sup absorp.. turned into tanned hides. I got 15k Whole Pyro outfit..
I got my lil farming place...

5 or 6, including vigor. In about 90hrs of play. All of them came from about 6 hours of farming--none came from normal gameplay.

As an aside, I noticed that the sup vigors were only selling for 60k at the rune trader. They sure have gone down in price. And the sup absorption! That one was priced at 100k! Looks like the new Rune To Have.

let's just say "a ton".

I basically go farm different areas, when im bored with quests or missions, and shift back and forth from farming to questing storyline and to fiddling with diff 2ndary builds.

ones you create a solid farming charac, ascend, do all storyline, do all the 2ndary quests. you basically have so many choices of gameplay with the game.

only advice to getting runes is: pick all the monsters that give "armor" type drops in all areas and test out killing em, and they will drop minors/major/superiors. (ofcourse dont forget the "luck" factor.)

added: actually since the patch, they stated that all runes are 100% expert salvaged into the rune, only runes put in charac armors are still able to be lost. so that's great news. since my 1st sup. vigor find turned into tanned hides as well.hehe

Well I finished the game on 1 character am at the last mission on 2nd, Nolani on the 3rd. Got 2 sup runes in an hour when my 1st character got to the desert and never seen another since. Got a few minors and majors however. I mostly seem to find nice weapons and such.

I've beaten the game on one character, and I'm at Lion's Arch on the other. I've only gotten one superior drop. And, I don't farm, so that's probably why I haven't gotten more than one.

As a N/E turned N/R I found 1 superior rune of (healing or protection- I forget which) for a monk.

I'm saving it for a guild mate.

well, about an hour after posting my first response, i came across a superior rune of soul reaping. it doesn't sell worth a crap, either.

i got it during the riverside province co-op mission where it came from the spoil of a hill giant's boots.
