the Shield with -2 dmg. Whats the condition on it?

Is it just like a 7% chance when you take a hit or somesuch?

The catch with the damage reduction is that it is on all the time........... so any time you take a hit its a 7% chance to receive 2 less damage; however, both shields have an inate damage reduction, #1 towards piercing and #2 towards plants.

ah alrighty - think i need to get me one with -2 dmg when enchanted as i'll likely be using Mending and Balthazars Spirit a lot.
