Using a Warrior/Monk as a secondary healer
Paladin_Adoni
Finding 2 Monks can be quite hard. it became so annoying that I decided to make my W/Mo a secondary healer and see how it goes. and its actually quite usefull.
sure, you dont heal as much as a normal monk, but you can deal damage, and you can tank, which can be very helpful.
heres my build :
ATTRIBUTES
HEALING PRAYERS 10
PROTECTION PRAYERS 10
STRENGTH 7
AXE, HAMMER or SWORD 9
TACTICS 1
cost 199 (1 left over)
first, the weapon stat only needs to be as high as your weapons requirement, mine is 9 so its set to 9
Skills
REBIRTH
FLURRY
AEGIS
SHIELDING HANDS
HEALING SEED
HEALING BREEZE
HEAL OTHER
ESSENSE BOND
notes : Flurry can be replaced by hundred blades or cyclone axe depending on your preference
REQUIRED ITEMS
your weapon must have a zealous mod on it (zealous gives you +1 energy per hit but -1 energy regen)
how to play :
tank like you normally would, get in there and attack something. you HAVE to attack so you have alot of energy, every hit gets you 1 more energy.
cast ESSENSE BOND on the party member taking the most hits.(might be you) so you gain even more energy.
This should fulfill your energy needs and limitations of the low energy amount on a warrior.
if your down to 5 or less energy, as soon as you have 5 energy cast FLURRY and just whack away for 5 seconds to get a heap of energy
then just cast HEAL OTHER, HEALING BREEZE, SHIELDING HANDS, HEALING SEED as is needed.
the main thing with this is getting used to it. learning when and on who to caste ESSENSE BOND on is the key. choose the wrong person and you will be getting alot less energy.
with this setup, the primary healer should top up your energy whenever they have a spare moment, so you can stay in battle and continue whackin away.
I've tested this quite alot, and once your used to it. it is VERY helpful!
and alot more versatile!
tell me what you think

So you're going to heal on 0 pips on energy regen with a maximum of 27 energy ? You have 9 in your weapon meaning you dont even do 100% of the listed damage. You have no attack skills except flurry which also reduces your attack damage. Your energy income is unstable, what if you hit wards and they switch targets often ?
why isnT' this in the forums dedicated to assorted builds ?

All there is to say is stick to the monks for healing.

WOW, talk about negative. every group i've tried this with really likes it.
I guess this is one of those times I shouldve just kept my trap shut and not shared with you poeple.
despite what you say, it works, it works well and people who have been in groups when I'm going this have really liked it, and asked me for the build information.

P.S.: only negative post was Eonwe's but he's kind of having a bad day cause he's getting mauled at Counterstrike

its a PvE build.
I didnt think you really got to choose your teams in PvP, unless your doing the guild thing. and then you would hope your guild has a healthy supply of monks.
the whole idea behind this was, after mission after mission standing around for 3/4 of an hour trying to get 2 monks was beyond a joke.
the idea is not for you to dish out craploads of damage like a normal warrior. but you will deal more damage than a healer monk, you can tank enemies, and you can heal to ALOT.
with a sword, your attack rate is pretty fast, gaining energy quick, add in flurry for those low-energy moments, and you will QUICKLY have 10+ energy again and rising.
oh and I've used this in underworld with a group of friends, and it works down there too, so its no useless.

Any Caster+monk secondary is a decent heal...using a warrior/monk for group healing is simply unreliable and weak at best
eA-Zaku
Lack of Divine Favor already puts non-monk primary healers at a disadvantage.
Not only are you not a monk primary, but you're also not a caster.
You're healing output as well as your damage is crap compared to a E/Mo healer or Monk primary with a decent staff/wand.
Even with flurry you won't have enough energy to pump out heals fast enough.
Ah, yes, and as you're melee you will need to heal yourself as well (or else you're simply taking up the monks' attention and therefore, once again, heals are being squandered)

I don't know, it might sound bad but it might work. I'll have to try it out with my warrior sometime.
