Let's all meet in International 1!

This idea had probably come up before - but given the people clamouring for a non-jerk district, or RP district, or whatever...
Why don't we make International 1 an informal district for nice people who like to chat, party with friendly, tolerant people, and rp a little?
It's usually pretty empty, so spread the word, (maybe we can sticky an announcement in the forums?
I just hopped on to International 1 in LA to test my theory, only 3-4 people were there. Trade and Chat channels were totally clear, just right for a group of friends to hang out and talk. Had a nice short conversation with someone, just out of the blue
If all the people "in the know" made it a habit of going to International 1 to do their merchant selling, etc, we might be able to accumulate enough of a population in most towns for it to be a good place to talk and hang out!
What do you think?
(Or does this "defacto RP district" already exist, and I don't know about it?)

Sure, one or two might come and troll bait us, but if we're all patient, and just ignore them, they'll get bored and go somewhere else.
Not to mention, going to International 1 requires a conscious decision to click on the box and say "yes"... I'd think most rush-happy jerks probably wouldn't bother.
And besides, if they stick around, they might learn a thing or two
Remember, whenever you go to a city - start at International 1! Do your NPC selling, storage and stuff there.
If you are LFG and can't find a group or something in 2-3 minutes or whatever, and noone is there, then go to the normal U.S. districts. But start in International 1

Posting here is exactly the opposite of what you would want to do if you are trying to start a 'more perfect' place within the game for people to hang out. This isn't a cheap shot against the GWGuru community or anything, it's just that the GWGuru community is the GW community... at least a majority of the most active people in the game. Just because this is one of the better places at the moment to get some information and talk about the game doesn't mean there is a disproportionate amount of jerks and immature people who come here when compared to everyone in-game.
This is in the same ballpark as a guild trying to become a good PvP guild through open recruiting in LA district 1.

In addition, this involves work - you have to intentionally go to the international districts - you give up easy partying, easy trades and spamming of your rushing services, the collector's items you want to sell at 20k to rip off new players and so on. Really, I don't think that appeals to the jerks.
The problem is that even if all the "good" players (by which I mean the nice ones I guess, though skilled would be a nice addition) on this forum start using Int 1 as home base you'll still find it hard to get a group. How many of us are playing Bloodstone Fen for example tonight? I have a toon there I was thinking of playing, but I doubt anyone else would be on and in that zone at the same time as I would be. I suspect a lot of waiting in empty towns would occur. In addition, I don't believe that the international distict ever has the Favour of the Gods, so you won't be able to do UW stuff.

I'm sorry, I don't understand your post?
So if posting here is the exact opposite, what should I be doing?
I'm not trying to create a community seperate from the normal community, what I'm saying is make International 1 a defacto "RP district" that some people are clamouring for... a default district for people who care about talking, about playing the game with other friendly people, etc. It's exactly the same as if the "RP district" actually got implemented - since it would presumably be open to everyone anyway.
I'm posting here to start the ball rolling... the important part is for people who feel the same way to make a small effort to visit International 1 and stay there if there are others there. And even more important - to tell all the nice people they know about it, so that a much larger crowd than just the GWGuru forum people know about it. If we can get a critical mass going, then it will become self-sustaining.
Presumably the reward of getting a fun group with likeable people is enough to justify the extra time spent there. The "jerks" who just want to rush missions etc, would be better off in the normal districts - there's many more people and better odds of finding a group fast. Even if they read this post, they just wouldn't care about the issues I'm talking about, to actually take the time to show up in Int. 1 for a few minutes whenever they visit a town.
EDIT: Ah, someone mentioned International not getting favour of the gods. Well, good point. Meet at international 1 for every town except Temple of Ages :P

There's problems with playing in the International Districts, which is something I've been doing for a while now, off and on, since someone suggested using it for RPing some time ago.
Problems:
- No Traders (Dye, Rune, etc.), because those markets are region specific, so they just don't exist in an International form. (I think they really should, and it probably wouldn't be that hard for ArenaNet to do, but maybe they fear mixing the markets.)
- Definitly no Favour of the Gods, for the same reasons.
Those are pretty severe; no traders kind of sucks.
It's still pretty neat to walk around Lion's Arch International and note all of the mission vendors. I mean, International is always a ghost town, but even the NPCs are missing!

I thought Int 1 was the unofficial RP district

I always stay in the International districts unless I'm going to trade runes/dye or try to buy/sell an item then ill briefly pop into LA us district. It's nice and QUIET and free from most of the horrible spam and general bufoonery that occurs in every other localised district, the few people there are always nice and usually helpful.

Is that a big issue? Do people often hang around the traders to arbitrage or something? Since it's no problem just dropping into the normal districts to purchase or sell things quickly.
Does favour of the gods matter to anything but the Temple of Ages? How so?
If International 1 -is- the unoffical RP district, more needs to be done to let as many interested people know.
Sticky a post somewhere! Stick it in the newbie guides here at GWGuru! make it a policy of your guild! Tell all your friends! If you're having a conversation in a normal district and the spam is annoying, suggest moving to International 1, and say "Let's go to Int 1, it's the unofficial RP/Chat district!"

heheheheh you let hte cat out of the bag. I have been going to international districts a lot for PvP. you can find excellent tombs groups there.

I think this is a TERRIBLE idea. Don't come... I mean go... to the International district. NO! Everyone there smells funny or something. Stay away.
Please.
