R/?? for Trapper
Surr3aL
which secondary profession is best for a trapper?
Valerius
don't think it would really matter... high exp and ws... maybe some into marks....
but if u don't put any into marks... i heard there are a few good mesmer skills that work well with trapping

Mantra of Resolve in Inspiration Magic can help a lot to stop you from being interrupted while setting traps. So, I'd go with Mesmer.
Casonetto
I like my Ranger/Mesmer.
Neo-LD
I agree with the last two guys. Mantra of Resolve seems to be made for trappers. Inspiration also has some nice energy replenishment spells to keep your trapper's mana up.

ok, R/Me it is then..

Go Elementalist secondary for Glyph of Concentration. It works with traps, doesn't occupy a stance slot (so you can use Serpent's Quickness), doesn't cause you to lose energy, and has excellent cost/timing stats.
Red Locust
Go with mesmer. Mesmer secondary goes good with everything. Mantra of Resolve beats out glyph of conc. any day.

How so?
Yes, you have to recast glyph of concentration before every trap, but it's fast and cheap (5/1/2) and most importantly you don't lose any energy when you take hits. Plus you can use a stance with it, unlike mantra of resolve.

Probably a mesmer, best way to finish off pissing off the enemy.

Inspiration also gives you acess to nice energy regain spells, counteracting any loss of energy, and basically ensures that the trapper never runs out of energy, ever.
Serpents Quickness isnt that important anyways. Just use Poison Arrow while you wait for the traps to recharge.

I disagree. Serpent's quickness is a must if you trap before engaging the enemy. It lets you lay down a lot more traps than you normally would be able to without it. Still, Mantra of Concentration is great to keep up while Serpent's is recharging.
Neo-LD
It does let you fire off a few more traps, that is certain. However, a trap ranger has more than just his the stuff he lays on the ground. Poison Arrow has virtually no cooldown, so as long as you bring that instead of spike trap, you can spam that all over the place while you wait for the cooldowns of your traps. 20 seconds isnt that bad when you consider that you have ~4 traps to lay (flame, dust, barbed, healing).
Sure, if you want spike trap instead of poison arrow, then glyph is better since you have absolutely nothing to do in between, so serpents is essential. However, spike trap for me has always been a fairly weak elite. It seems weaker than barbed trap.
So there are two possible trappers (so far)
1) R/E
Glyph of Concentration
Spike Trap (E)
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Dust Trap
Healing Spring
Serpents Quickness
xxx <--| could be... dunno. suggestions?
2) R/Me
Mantra of Resolve
Poison Arrow (E)
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Dust Trap
Healing Spring
xxx <--| could be inspiration energy gain spells
