What Loviatar says makes no sense, you can't infringe on a trademark within a trademark. The "infringment" exists within the world of the trademark, there is no connection to the trademark outside the game thus it's clearly not going to effect ArenaNet since they "own" the property already. Silmor is on the right track.
However, that doesn't alter the EULA, which clearly states
" or which may mislead other players to believe you to be an employee of NC Interactive or its affiliated companies"
And for me that is the key rule broken, I could see the name being very easily mistaken as an ArenaNet or NC employee.
Unfair name banning

I'd like to stand up for Lovitar, he seems to be wrong about whether or not this is actual trademark infringement, but at least he's trying to formulate a logical argument, which is something right in my book.
As opposed to the original poster, who's retort seems limited to calling Lovitar "childish."

Not to mention the fact if they think there might be an issue, they will probably change it. The last sentence in the passage 4d of the EULA basically says if they suspect infringement they change it...or atleast thats what I'm reading out of it.

omg I asked for no rants/flames.
Greetings James,
Thank you for contacting us.
Characters cannot be named the name of the game, NCsoft or Arena.Net emplyee names, NPC names.
When the name change feature goes in, you will be able to change the name at that time. I do not have an estimated time of when that will go in, but please keep checking our website at http://www.GuildWars.com for more info on the latest additions and changes.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they create restrictions on names that didn't conform to certain rules, such as these names in capitals and spaces. If they didn't, they really should, I find the game much better with players who use good old fashoined names for their characters.
Anyway, that was a random aside...
Also, in regards to your first post, being in a guild that has been featured in GotW, what difference does this make? The way you wrote it suggests that you should be given special treatment.
