New ascention and skill quests rant

With the new build with 50k xp instead of insta lvl 20, I have losts 3 skill points!
I ascended with the old system, and thus got NOTHING.
Instead, with the new system I could have gotten 50k XP
Also, the 3 new quest which gives 6 skills in total.
Guess what? I had those skills already.
So that means I've wasted 6 skill points there.
And oh no, no idea in giving skill points instead of already owned skills right?
Just too bad for those who bought the skills?

Anet, you owe me 9 skill points, and a fix in retroactiveness!

Anet owes you nothing. You play their game, so they owe you absolutely nothing. While it may be annoying that you missed the 50k XP thing, skill points don't matter much anyways. Heck, I have every single skill in both my professions on my main character and 10 skill points to spare-- and only did the early quests and all the missions, then stopped.

I missed out on that too, but guess what...life moves on.
It seems unfair, but things could have been far worse.

Yeah, it's no big deal for me neither, but it's annoying.
And way unbalanced.
The later you come into the game, the more skill points you get? How ****ed up is that?
And I'm sure I will get them to unlock the rest of the skills I need for PvP when the new chapter comes.
But this is a rant.
Best way to be heard on forums.
Even if people think it's stupid, they still read it all:P

They gave everyone that ascended before the change retroactive points. It was on their main page. You probably just didn't notice them. Now the skill quests are something else but it sounds pretty petty to me when they're rolling important updates out every single week and quite obviously working hard at making this the best game ever.

Perhaps you feel you should also get given xp retrospectively equivalent to what some people were getting when Ascending auto leveled you to lvl 20. In fact, how about we just give you 100k xp right now, throw in 9 elite skills of your choice, and a free Superior Vigor just to make up for the inconvenience.

And I'm 100% sure I didn't get retroactive points, since I had used ALL skill points before that build, and still had 0 right after it.
Well, now ANet has reached their goal.
I only have to grind 2.5 lvls without ANY EAs left to explore (except when FoS and GF comes out) to unlock the elites I'm missing.

How much exp did you have in total? If it was under 300k ish, you wouldn't have recieved any because each level would be under 20k exp. (Something like that, not sure of the exact numbers)

Hmm same here. A friend got the exp and 2 new skillpoints (he ascended befor, like i did) i got nothing. I dont know how they juged this

no, you don't pay for it. You bought it, they have to maintain it. I, for one, don't want them to make retroactive changes because my Platemail armor wouldn't be the extra-special that it is. Sometimes, not having retroactive changes works in your favor.

Besides, if you went out and bought a skill, instead of waiting patiently to either capture it or get a quest that gave it to you, then you made a choice. A bad choice, but still a choice.

A SoC costs a skill point too.
Though I think they should warn that they added quests which gives skill points.
And who saíd we don't pay for it?
Well, we bought it, that's true.
But if we didn't, what would've become of ANet.
And if we don't buy the chapters once they come out?
They would be out of buisness with this concept, and would've lost loads of time and money.
So just because we don't pay monthly doesn't mean we aren't paying customers that are an interest for ANet.

If I remember correctly, ANet said that if you update your character's XP status (ie. go kill something and gain a little xp), the game should update your character with the retroactive Ascension bonus.
This issue doesnt affect me, so I could be remebering this incorrectly, but its worth a try if you havent already.

Just go create another character and stop the whine. With an attitude like that over trivial things, the only thing that Anet owes you is a good swift kick in the..............sigils.

I was only post-ascension with one character...he will live, and my other characters will have all of these special goodies.

I would like to be given the 50k XP I missed out on, sure, but I don't have to have it.

The earlier you come into the game, the better chance to farm you have. The more money you can make because of an early, unfixed economy including selling sigils and runes.....
