Vocal Minority, R.I.P.

Mo/Me

I rarely start threads but this just HAD to be said. I'm sure a lot of players with sizeable MMO experience will agree.

This game has THE most balanced system as far as professions go in ANY MMO when compared to L2/WoW/SWG. The latter are all great games, but even after months of release (years in the case of L2 and SWG) they all suffer from horrific class imbalances.

As someone who has been playing MMOs for 2+ years now and got quite sickened till a while ago with profession arrays in every game being unbalaced as hell, I appreciate the fact that this game has done the best there is in the gaming industry till now in this area.

Balancing professions is SUCH a hard process it's easier thought of and far intolerably harder to implement successfully. A few DPS here and a slight shift in class role means over or under balancing a class as compared to others. GW has managed to not just get the profession balances right but also the sub professional lines right as well. If you know anything about how intricately hard (some beleive impossible to achive ever) it is to get to a close ratio of class effectiveness in a unique group role as far as combat goes, you'll greatly appreciate it too I bet.

Kudos ANet.

While I agree GW is balanced, you have to realize the monthly fee we pay for most MMO's goes to adding content and balancing the game. WoW classes were unbalanced a month ago, are much more balanced today, and will probably be even more balanced next week. I don't know about L2 but Wow and SWG are constantly balancing their classes/professions to the point only the hardcore whiners are still screaming 'Nerf'!
