Shocking Short BOW of Warding: GOLD BOW
15-28 lightning damage
13% more damage while health is above 50%
+6 armor against elemental damage

Can I add a new grip and give it another mod besides the +6 to armor? I don't think i can but if so what can i change about this bow?

U can add any bow grip to that, but u lose the +6 grip.

So you're pretty sure i can add a GRIP and all it will do is replace the +6 armor vs elemental damage for whatever mod is on grip?

correct me if i'm wrong but this is a VERY GOOD BOW isn't it? That is if i add a better grip.

It's a nice bow, I would leave it as-is.

but if i CUSTOMIZE it with the 20% and add a zealous grip or something else wouldn't it be better? You think the +6 armor is a decent mod?

Zealous is a string, not a grip. For grips there are +1 marks grips, those are nice depending on the percentage. There are the bane grips, like undead bane +15% damage, and there are various armor grips. +6 armor vs elements is not bad at all. Oh yeah and of course the Fortitude grips, which seem to vary from +20 health (see those all the time) to +30 health (good luck hehe).

+6 armor vs. elements isnt terrible but.. its not that great either. You should replace it with a high +hp fortitude grip. Also, unless you use an R/E that uses a 'Conjure' skill, elemental bowstrings aren't the best choice. They work well in some places and even against some people in PvP, but I find that phys damage is the way to go. Maybe if you PvP have a backup bow with an ele bowstring for taking out warriors though.

A +6 armor vs elements is pretty damn good actualy, you aren't going to find much higher than that.

True that it's high for a Warding grip, but IMO, it still doesn't stand anywhere near to a Fortitude grip in terms of being useful.

For a ranger who already has high elemental resistance (+30) on the armor, I say go for an armor + 7 vs physical damage instead. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) max defense mod on a grip is armor + 7 vs either elemental or physical, and armor +5 vs all.

Its a nice philosophy, but rangers generally shouldn't take physical damage in battle in a decent party. They might take a little bit of ranged attack but most ranged attack to worry about are elemental, so I think this grip is quite good.

Just a little little link on the Upgrades on bow (And all equipment). Can use that to compare what's available and what can be mixed and matched.
