Release Date Cont..
Azargoth
I know the release date is the 28th and I don't mean to spam or anything but does it mean the game is released only in USA? I live in Vancouver Canada and the stores we have are (Walmart,Futureshop,Zellers, ect)
I was just wondering if I go to say Futureshop or walmart the exact second it opens will the game be on the shelves on the 28th or is the game just arrive on the 28th?

As far as we know Guild Wars is slated for a global release on the 28th. This means that it will be available at stores around the world on the 28th.

Off topic real quick: Your avatar is just a snipet from the longer animation where the stick-figure guy continuously attacks an unknown object, and then we find out at the end that all that he was attacking was a stuck door, which then opens? I believe that's what it's from.
On topic: I never realized that Wal-Mart released new PC games later on than most other stores do. Not like I ever had any intentions of buying new releases from Wal-Mart anyway (Target normally cuts down on the MSRP by $10 on initial release), but that's still surprising considering how many people shop at Wal-Mart. Oh well...

That's good to know about Target. I always thought that games go on sale only after the 2nd week as a general rule. We don't go to WalMart unless we absolutely have to, and that's very, very rare.
It'd be the April 28th North American time.

Well, it's not always a given that Target will drop the price like that; it's just something I've noticed for a few of the more highly anticipated releases, especially for console games. I can't think of exactly which games were set $39.99 there, but it has been quite a few. I'm not sure about PC games though, since I hadn't gone out to buy a PC game in a long time, at least to get a decent one.

considering the business model there may not be any appreciatable drop for some time if any
if they drop the price many people will hang back until the price drops to buy the next chapter and there goer 20-40 percent of possible income and operating expences
they are hoping high quality will be enough to hold onto and increase sales with each chapter
dropping prices goes against this
we will see

Canada does have ebgames...and they always have the games on time, so if anything else doesnt work you could always go there...
