Chapters and Expansions?
Azargoth
It says on the official site that You need more chapters to get different classes and different races and so on...
Are chapters like expansions because the chapters I am aware of for RPG's is the ones like the ones for Neverwinter Nights?
If so when do the developers intend to release the chapters/expansions

Faq's are really useful and insightful, but anyhow They intend to release expansions every 6-8 months with a lot of new content. However you don't "need" to get it in order to remain competitve or be able to keep playing. Its just new content, but still balanced with whatever you got if you don't get the expansions (chapters) But once you love the game you just have to crave for more so I'm one of those in line waiting to grab any expansions that come along.

Chadatog
Last official word from Jeff was 6-9 months
William of Orange
I've been hearing the same thing (6-8ish months) for the release of each expansion. Having a new one ready in 3-4 months seems like it would be rushed; 6-8 gives ample time to add new content on scale with the original release.
Rizzen Khalazar
I hope the game can keep people interested for 6-9 months without an expansion.
William of Orange
I'm sure that there would still be an interest in playing the game after 6-8 months. How long did Diablo 2/Warcraft III/StarCraft go without expansions? Those games were wildly popular when first released, and I'm pretty sure it took a while until the expansions came out and there was still an interest in the game.

Aaah Diablo 2, I have not played that in a while. Kind of stopped when I noticed everyone was obviously cheating.
Rizzen Khalazar
Its a good hack and slash. Its amazing how much you enjoy a game after not playing it for a while, good times
Joysze
I'm still kinda playing D2 on and off, although about the only times I venture there nowadays is to rush a friend and do some baal runs. Not too bad when you're terribly bored and need something to do.
Striker Shardale
Heh, I have been stuck playing Condition-Zero and Knights Online so I do not go crazy waiting for the beta and the 28th.

To me D2 is mor like *HAX* and slash

Unfortunately, being all too familiar with software developers and timeschedules, when Jeff says 6-9 months, I'm fully expecting we'll see a new chapter about once a year. OTOH, that's not too shabby...
Cyris
You have to remeber they will also be bringing stuff in through the streaming technology as well!
Kirbie
yeah
once a year sounds very good to me
gives people plenty of time to enjoy quests and peer vs peer before new content releases

I like the sound of these chapters very much. I'm guessing they'll probably only cost about £20($36)? I can happily put that aside for every chapter that comes out especially if it's going to be every 6-9 months, or even every year!
This sounds like real fun!

the latest *OFFICIAL WORD* (hear the echos) is 2 per year EACH with about the same amount of content as the original
chapters can be mix and match without having to buy in sequence or at all
Redfang
I am confident GW will release expansions as soon as they can because they don't make any more money until they do. Unlike games like WoW, they don't make extra money every month just for sitting on their kiester promising things they never deliver. I love this business model!

every incentive (paychecks) to make as much QUALITY material as they can so people will buy the chapter and rope new people in as well

I guess, but I dont use any hacks or cheats, what is the point? Totally ruins the game. Ive been playing D2 since it was released, so I have everything anyway. Its just to get me the the BWE
