What sort of transportation can we expect to see in GW?
For instance is there Horseback or ships?
Is there any sort of travel other than walking/running

If not then how long will it take to travel through area's?

dang your posting a lot

its instant you click on where you want to go(such as an outpost or town), and you go there.

Seeing that you click where you want do you have a choice to go on foot or just click..for instance say if you wanted to level and had to find some bad guys could you just go to a region and fight stuff or would you just click on a region to go to?

map jumpping is good for a number of reasons, i wouldnt want to walk all the way back to ascalon from yak's bend, not cause its dangerous, just time consumeing. prolly take an hour or 2 or more. plus its an easy way to complete certain missions

The entire world can be reached by hiking, but if you're wanting to travel a long ways, you're best off teleporting via the map. If you want to compare it to MMORPG's that are around, hiking through the maps is like walking from one place to another, while the teleporting is like ships and other forms of transportation, just without the time and effort involved in those(no waiting for the next ship to leave, travel time, etc). It can take several hours to walk even a fair ways across the map, often depending on your level(whether the monsters are still challenging and give exp versus level 5's when you're 20), so if you're wanting to go to a distant place and don't want to spend 3 or 4 hours travelling there, it's much better to just use the map and teleport. If you're looking to explore, get some loot, and gain experience, you always have the option to hike, however.

The point and click on the map is a great idea. Sure, people will still walk and explore. But having to go back and forth sometimes, on foot is really annoying and a massive timesink. I am glad they implemented the point and click teleportation system in this game.

Actually in order for you to be able to travel via the map you have to "unlock" the city that you want to go to and in order for you to "unlock" it you have to already have been there at one time or another. So, there will be A LOT of walking/running/hiking but after getting to those places for the first time it all is good.

you mean missions. missions do not necessarily involve prince rurik and quests that do involve him do not necessarily unlock cities on your map.

What mission does unlock Yak's Bend?
I was there after the mission in the academy, and now I can't go back because it isn't on my map...

I walked to Yak's Bend. I never got a CoOp Mission that took me there upon completion ...

the Great Northern Wall takes you to Fort Runik, Which Takes you to frontier gate, then a short walk to Ruins of Surmia whick will take you to Naloni Acadamy, and that mission takes you to Yaks Bend, where you walk to Borlis Path which will take you to Frost Gate.

If you completed Nolani Academy, then Yak's Bend is on your map.
You can't see it when you are zoomed out all the way, because only major cities, missions, and arenas are shown when you zoom out. Yak's Bend is an outpost so you must zoom in to see it... but it's definatly got to be there.

The missions are very linear throughout the early parts of the game (I can't tell you if it's the same later, I havn't gotten all the way through yet, but I'm at Druid' Overlook and it's been all linear up to this point).
Completing a mission will take you to a new area. Oftentimes it is another mission, and sometimes and outpost... or a major city!
From an outpost or major city, you can find a Primary Quest, which will direct you to the next mission.
Basically, if you complete whatever mission or primary quest is available, you will find another one and it will take you through the game. Completing missions is, in my opinion, the best way to progress through the game since they are very rewarding EXP-wise and take you places that you want to go anyway.
