i wanna build a Mesmer around the idea of Disruption magic, but my question is this:
In a build of a Disruption Mesmer is it necessary to have damage spells equiped also?

*Keep in mind that i am only to Droknar's*

my current build is:Backfire
Ignorance
Power Leak
Power Spike
Mantra of Recovery{elite}
Leech Signet
Energy Tap
Arcane Conundrum

my build will change according to the answer of the question.

right now, i do not like how i have my attribute points allocated... basically because they have to be everywhere for this to work, and that means i have low numbers for each category.

Bassed on the answer to the question my builds will change to:

If Damage is Required:Backfire
Energy Burn
* Energy Surge {elite} *
Mind Wrack
Power Leak
Power Spike
Signet of Weariness
Leech Signet
^-- This is Mainly Domination bassed therefore, after i allocate the points into Domination Magic I feel that i have free points...so i decided to put them into Fast Casting and Inspiration Magic --v

Points for this build will be allocated as such:Fast Casting = 10 (with Minor Rune equiped)
Domination Magic = 16 (with Superior Rune equiped)
Illusion Magic = 0
Inspiration Magic = 11 (with Minor Rune equiped)

Ignorance

Power Leak

Power Drain

I personally like the latter build, with my points allocated as such:Fast Casting = 0
Domination Magic = 16 (with Superior Rune equiped)
Illusion Magic = 14 (with Superior Rune equiped)
Inspiration Magic = 7 (with Minor Rune equiped)
So, if anyone would like to give me feedback on my builds, but more importantly answer to my question of, "In a Disruption Mesmer build are damage spells required (or even suggested)?" I would be much ablidged!

Your current build is pretty good, though you should carry Power Drain instead of Energy Tap. Inspired Hex/Enchantment is good to have around sometimes too.
And no, you do not need damage spells on a interruption build.
