I wonder myself:

what is the difference between giving a weapon a lightning upgrade, a cold upgrade, fire or an earth upgrade?

does elemental damage do more damage normally then melee?'
is this only important for armor calculations?

different elemental upgrades do different amounts of damage to different enemies...eg..icy damage may not have the same affect as fire damage to some monster
