OK, your all tired after a long day of killing Imps, what is the only thing that would make you happy? Beting on them! The Imps are not the only thing you can bet on, there are many other creautes to bet on, like mabye giants, Grawls, and mabye even undead! You could check the times at which each different creature would be racing at, then you come back like 5 minutes early to see the racers adn there stats and you place your bet and wait for the race to start, as they are racing you are automaticly emoting "GO [name of racer]", "You can do it!", with each shout ucommpanied by a fist shake or wave!
This would be the pefect gold sink, true some players would win a little gold back if they picked the right Racer, but imagen if we even had NPC's walking around selling ale!!

interesting idea. since we already have so many good runners in game, why not have actual team of players act as runners, and have random obstacles like knockdowns, slowdowns, traps and monsters. the race is won your entire team make across the finish line. i don't think anet want to promote gambling, so this idea probably won't go anywhere.

It's a good idea, I'd prefer to see animal fights though. Put a gypsy ettin in a ring with 4 devourers and bet on the outcome!

Our Guild runs 'treasure hunts'...

we pick a map section, get a group of members together ... the leader.. laiden with protective skills and running skills will drop several weapons around the map which are customised to him...usually in amongst loads of really high level baddies... if you die, you lose.. if you find one and return it to the leader you score. there is never enough items for everyone so there will always be a loosers, we keep doing that until there is only one winner... who will take the prize money. (whatever everyone puts in)

Its a great laugh try it .. we tend to do it only for new members though... the game is over far too quick for high levels.. but we do bet on which new players will win

Who needs Casinos ?

How about grandstands for the HoH? With all talk on only for the spectators, ale sales, and betting on your favorite guild.

They won't put in racetracks, guys. They already enforced 'no gambling' with the whole rock, paper,scissors conspiracy. They certainly won't promote gambling on racetracks.

I tend to agree... they wont promote gambling.. but a race is just a race surley?.. .. I dont bet or gamble on anything, but I love to compete in the events that attract such people.

You can bet and gamble on anything.. any kind of competition (Banzai anyone?) I dont think putting a racing event promotes gambling.. it promotes competition.

Im certain that the Olympic Games attracts betters but I'm nearly 100% certain that 'Gambling' isnt the reason why the Olympic games exist. or any kind of Racing like F1..

Putting in a race track doesnt suggest that A.Net are Pro-Gamblers.. but the mere accusation would be more damaging

I'd rather they add paramutual betting on the battles we fight. It wouldn't be that hard to do.

they should put in frat houses and sorority girls. and allow the frat houses to throw keggers once a week. 5 bucks a cup

They could just charge an entrance fee to get into the track, and then sell things once you get in there...no official gambling

We try invent lots of different games to keep the guildactive, I feel its my Duty as an officer

When I get around to it I will also make some Treasure hunt Badges for members worthy of it.

I am looking for more 'BADGE' ideas for my site if you have any.. I need something that doesnt require 'proving' with the likes of a screenshot.

Its easy to prove if a character has managed to get to Droknars Forge or ascended (just meet them there) but to prove their /age or that they have completed quests in UW can only be done by screenshots.. which can be tamperd with, also It needs to be a badge that isnt easily aquired, so that I dont have to update the site every 5 minutes

they took out the gambling not because "gambling is wrong" but because the methods were being used to scam people out of large quantities of money... it wasn't even crooked gamblers it was just people saying "give me 1 plat and if you beat me in a dice roll I'll give you 5" then they change districts.
