game update notes

hi,

I just read those notes and i understood a pvp char will be able to get items, runes and skills just by fighting players.

Personally i like that becouse i dont like the pve part, i find that boring, to me the real challenge is to fight players, computer monsters are easy and stupid.

But before deleting my char i would like to know one more thing. Will a pvp char be able to craft armors? or i will have to stay with the only armor i will be given?.

Thx a lot for your answers.

As far as I know, PvP only characters can only use the armours that are available on the PvP creation screen.

Which is good since they shouldn't have access to all the best armor stright away, while PvE have to work for it all.

in my opinion they should have access to it. Pve does work for it becouse they want to, i mean thay like it.

I dont like pve, so why should i work for it. Keep in mind i have to lvl 20 ascended chars, but if want to try different chars i dont want to do it all over again.

You should be able to play the game the way u want. Why force someone to do the pve part?. I think the pve should be done by those who like it, if i just want to play pvp why should i have worse armor?. Should i only be able to have the same armor if i waste 40 hours doing missions?. It should be your skill what made you win not your gear.

Just my opinion.

Well sorry but if for example I spent months collecting the crafting materials for Fissure of Woe armor, only for a PvP person to get it instantly with no effort at all.. I think its completely unfair.

PvP character should be given some armor, but not the really hard to get rare ones... PvE players work ages to get armor, and like to show it off... not for someone to rub it in.

That's the way I look at it.

I'm really looking forward to this update. And the guilds in alpha are very excited about it as well, providing lots of feedback on the system.

I'd just like to confirm/clarify some of the things raised here:

1. Monks will *not* be disadvantaged by this system. They'll receive the same rewards that all other members of the team receive.

2. The system provides the opportunity for a player to unlock something. The system does not choose for you - the choice belongs to the player.

3. Players can earn the bonuses via post-Ascension PvP of all types - Arena, Tombs, Guild-vs-Guild.

4. You can earn the rewards with any character on your account (doesn't matter whether it is a RP character or PvP character), and progress is account based (so you can delete PvP characters without losing anything).

so RTSFierbat you think if u spent tons of hours farming, wich is something that requires no skill, and you geta nice armor, in your opinion you should win against a player who is better than you only becouse this imaginary player didnt spend hours farming.

Sounds wierd to me. If this is how the game goes i think it sux. 14 year old kids will be the best players becouse they have more time than anyone else. I would prefer being able to fight against any player with the same posibilities, and i think the best time should win, not the team that spend more time doing no skill tasks.

I think RTSFirebat was talking about the 15K ascension armors (the fissure set being especially costly) which have no statistical bonuses over the normal ones. In this respect I agree, as this means the PvE players are only better visually than the PvP players, but not statistically. This, I agree with, PvE players should at least get more customization options for having worked for weeks and months for it.

Thank you Magus... yes that's what I mean. All the top level armor has the same stats... some it really doesn't matter who works longest.

Just don't think its fair for PvP people to get the best LOOKING armor for free... where takes PvE people 60K and a bucket load of materials just to get normal 15K armor...

And then the Fissure of Woe armor costs even more!

Oh and Nuba some farming does require skill, you can't just "solo pwn I ownz j00" any all bunch of mobs you come across you know Not much planning required, but some thinking is needed.

I think I find some PvP battles easier since humans tend to make mistakes more often

Ok, that really interest me.

So the only different between pvp armor and pve armor is the way it looks??
can u confirm that pls?

About farming, i just think it should be done for whoever players want to do it. I dont understand why a player should be forced to do something. If u farm and u get something that makes u fell better i think its great. But when pvp comes whe should have the same chances so we know who played better that battle.

I dont care if u look better than i do, and i have 2 lvl 20 chars, i know about the pve game, but i would like to have different chars, just i dont feel like doing it all over again for the third time. I think tiwce is eonugh.

Well by the end of the game in PvE you can buy 15K armor from the Southern shiver peaks... this is what I'm currently wearing and with the right amount of time it shouldn't take too long to collect.

However there is also 15K armor down the Fissure of Woe which you access from the temple of ages.

While this armor also costs 15K, the crafting materials for it are rare and super expensive.

Needless to say all this armor has the same stats.

However it would be annoying if PvP characters were given access to these excusive 15K armors for free, without any effort.

There is also 1.5K armor the Southern shiverpeaks. These have the SAME stats as the 15K ones, the just look normal.

The reason for the 15K ones is they look different and thus allow people to stand out more when wearing them

Just another question, can a pvp char fight in guild vs guild battles?
