I doubt that its possible to ascend in 5 hours. You would have to get through presearing in about 20 minutes, and then have someone run you to sanctum cay (probably take 4 hours at least) and then you'd have to get someone to run you to each of the mission towns and then you'd have to do each of the missions and THEN you'd have to ascend.

I dunno, it can be done pretty fast if you have a good runner. A good running character will make it through Lornars in 20ish minutes. I don't know about 5 hours, but if you had a good guild team of ascended characters pushing you through the missions you could steamroll them fast. It might be doable.

I was making a comparison. Lornar's ia a long way on the map, with a lot of twisting paths. If it can be done in 20 minutes then it is feasible to do the running to Sanctum in 3 hours or so, it was an attempt at perspective.
Does ascension automatically grant elevation to level 20 anymore? If not why would someone want to do that?
Say at level 3 when attempting ascension, about how many levels would a character receive with the 50k xp reward?
If you do not leave ascension at level 20 then you will be worthless in the subsequent areas and have to backtrack anyway unless you are going for a full rush.....no?
