Apply Poison?

Im curious, would Apply Poison preporation work for swords as well? It says enemies struck by your "physical attacks" become poisoned.

Apply Poision:
For 12 seconds, enemies struck by your physical attacks become poisoned for 3-13 seconds.

Im interested because i could theoretically inflict a health degen of -7 if i make them bleed and poison them, Has anyone ever tried the W/Ra Ra/W build and could make suggestions.

Yes, Apply Poison works on all weapons. You could put it on a bow, you could put it on a sword. Heck, you could put it on a wand if you really wanted. So, yes, it's possible to both Bleed and Poison someone in one fell swoop giving them DOT equivalent to that of the On Fire condition. That's 14 damage per second which isn't really much. Worse, you'll need to take the time out to prep up with Apply poison which lowers your damage output. And, remember that you only apply poison once, you don't get to stack up those 4 pips of degen over and over, so if you swing again with Apply Poison you're just extending the duration of the Poison condition.

Thankyou for the help.
I was going to try the Ra/W build, with my armor against elemental instead of melee.

-7 still takes allot out of you though, Espessially if your landing hits making the decrease even larger, throw expertese into the mix and i might have a build. And the durations of the bleeding and posion are much better then fire, bleeding lasting for 21 seconds max and poison for 13. I also like the idea that i can switch between sword and sheild and bows efficiently depending on what my team needs. I havent decided on if im going to have a pet or not, i dont think i would have the skill slot room.

Another question, im quite interested in traps for my build. Can you put 2 traps in the same place? Like fire and spike. I havent really played with traps much, Can you also set traps around you like when your fighting a bunch of char and you set a fire trap, Does it work or does it catch you on fire as well?

i think i know where you are going with this, and it would seem to me that you will be spreading yourself out a bit thin. 3 attributes at 11/10/10 base tends to be the sweet spot for most builds. anything less than 12 in your weapon attribute means that you are less effective with that weapon. if you are going ranger primary for expertise, that leaves you with only 2 other attributes to choose out of marksmanship for bows, swordsmanship for swords, wilderness survival for apply poison, and tactics for shields. sure, you could fiddle around with the numbers and get 4 attributes pretty high, but you really need to think long and hard about what you want to do.

traps tend to be difficult to play. the only time i have seen them work well is in bottleneck situations. traps tend to be costly and easily interruptable so you need high experitse to run them and you won't be using them in a middle of a fight. they tend to be better set ahead of time for bottleneck situations or possibly guarding high priority targets like your monk.

Im going to try it out this beta to see if it will work, and i suppose i will make my desisions as i play. I always come out with these elaborate plans of what i want to do but it never ends up working that way

I think im going to be big on wilderness survival, swordsmenship, and expertese. But i might also throw in a few bow skills for my PVE obcession. I just want to find the right balance so i can see how Ranger and Warrior skills can work together.

Where can you find this skill. I've looked/searched on these forums and asked people online and still cannot find where this skill is located. Could someone please tell me the exact location of this and the other poison ability (name escapes me ATM) please. Thanks.
