I don't think I have to say much more.

Well, maybe I should...
Simple emote, when you enter it you get this message:
"[REGION] currently has the favor of the gods. In order to take away the favor [REGION] must win [NUMBER] more times."
Or something to that effect.

Also, for those who don't want to enter GW just to do this, please keep a "Favor of the Gods" ticker or announcement running on top of the guildwars.com website (always).

Yeah, for the people who god forbid can't just go to ToA to check. I mean, they're gonna go there anyway for UW/Fissure...

I definately agree w/ the original poster... they could make it much easier for everybody, (instead of having to map to ToA or scroll up in chat hoping an announcement was made) if they added a /favor shortcut. a ticker would be nice, w/ maybe a link to stats on which country has had the favor for the longest amount of time total, longest holding streak, etc.

Worst. Suggestion. Ever.

The only use I could see for something like this is someone wants to know when they can turn on their ecto farming bot. If you're too lazy... ah, nevermind.

Unless... maybe if it's only for ranked players. PvE Joe, who will never participate in helping his country take favor anyway, will be unranked. So:

/favor
You are too useless to use this command.

Worst ever response, no reason, no logic, basic dribble. Well you have lived upto your name on this one, only a chimp could post such a antagonistic idiotic response.

My bad, I assume the average GWG can read what's meant, so at the risk of being redundant...

What beneficial purpose would this serve? None. To know who has favor, if you're not intending on doing anything about it. You are at the mercy of those who will, those who prefer team PvP vs sitting in TotA and talking about random crap. I mean, really, when you think about the fact that these people sit in there, probably hundreds, talking about the most inane stuff... the stupidest things ever overheard in GW are overheard in TotA when we don't have favor. They just sit there, doing nothing. We won't have favor for at least an hour... and still they just sit. telling "yo momma" jokes even. It's just silly.

Or maybe I misunderstand your counter-rant. Maybe you disagree that if /favor were implemented, it should be for ranked players only? Why? I want to know. Let's hear why a PvE-only who just wants in UW needs to be able to know w/o actually going to the entrance zone. Whereas someone in combat in tombs might want this info. Fine. I agree.

It's not like this is secret information. It announces. It broadcasts loudly every win that slides the "favor count" downward. That's why I disagree with it's addition. It's human nature. It's definitely casual American gamer's nature. If you could check it from a website? A lot of the playerbase would stop logging in at all. Some people might want a full rss feed they could render to a nice, formatted xml that can tell you server(s) load, a bagfull of current stats, how many people are currently casting a rez spell... and while it's not inherently bad... it's just a bad idea because it's useless statistics; it's only important to AN, not you nor the general gaming public.

Devil's advocate: So a dev implements this. Now what? People who are done with all the PvE content but for UW/Fissure won't even log on. They'll pull up the web page, go "OH NOES!" and go play Freecell or whatever. Or they'll sit here on GWG instead of playing, because hey... why just sit in TotA and talk about stupid stuff? Ah. So that's why. I get it now.

Gah, see, now this sounds really aggressive. Its your fault. I'm defensive now. I think it's a bad idea. As bad or worse than suggesting /kick... it has wide-reaching effect even though it seems harmless enough.

Longest PvP player superiority fume EVER! It's not really that easy to win at the tomb with your average PUG, thus many players that play GW are not ranked. So why should they not get to use /favor? If they want to spend the meantime inbetween their region controlling favor turning TotA into their personal AOL chat, who really cares? I think it would save people like myself the hassle of going to TotA to check favor status. If I don't have favor, that doesn't mean I'm going to sit around and wait for it or log off and do something else. I'll just find something else to do. It's not something I'd use all that frequently I suppose, but if they're willing to code /age and /deaths commands, I'm pretty sure /favor would not be too much of a hassel. I don't see too many downsides to it...unless you buy into that long-winded "If you don't PvP, you're completely useless to the game" theory presented by Mr. GW Monkey. Even if it caused some people not to log on, I don't see why you're complaining since these people are "useless" and are the same kind of people that you cried about sitting around talking in TotA anyways. Same illogical arguement, just dressed up a little fancier.
