aight guys, here is my predicament... the other day i was traded some "gold dye" (yes i knew it was a mix, i know there is no such thing as basic gold dye)... along with the gold dye, i purchased the formula, as this was by far the best looking and most realistic gold dye i had seen yet on the game...

however, when i went to try out the mix myself, it didn't work... i tried several other near combos and they also failed..

so here is what i want to do. im gonna call on you guys to bust out your mixes in search of some of the best shades of gold, please include the formula and a decent sized screenshot of the bottle (screenshot the whole screen then cut-out and enlarge the vial part)... ive already done 1orange+1yellow and have some others ive observed, but can't testify to, however, i didn't take a screen since i hadn't thought of this yet..

all your entries will go into a compendium here. Thank you and good luck!

1 Orange + 1 Yellow = fire-orange.....................................{none available}

you have to add silver, i think, to get that gold color.

Theres been quite a few posts about gold dye around here so it might be worth while searching around. I'm satisfied with the one I found:

1 Orange +1 Yellow +1 Yellow +1 Blue

Err.. you do know that dyes will look different depending on which armour carries them, right? Therefore every armour will have a unique blend that approximates 'gold' closest, and on certain armours it will never look very authentic.

Dye remover removes ALL dye so you will end up with silver color only. Also notice some armor from npc is already dyed so it will change color when you use dye remover on it.

Dye remover mixed into a dye causes the dye to act more like a mixture of the original colour of the armor and the dye you used, or at least, that is so in my experience.

Purple + Dye Remover, then applied on the necromancer gear makes an ugly reddish purple colour. The base of the armor is red.

Edit: Although, I've never used Dye Remover on a mixture.

And as it's been said, the effects of dye and dye mixtures varies largely depending on the armor. Take for example many cloth armors: They have a difficult time accepting a metallic type colour, and instead turn a non-metallic variant often. Silver + Enchanter's Gear on a mesmer becomes plain grey. Make a standard gold mixture and it'll be a bright orange or yellow instead.
