Never get a good group for HoH?

Hey guys, sorry for sounding like a commercial, but here I go.

You know you're good enough, but you never seem to get a good group that's as good as you, or your partying buddies have dumped you or quit GW. You know you can be one of the best out there, the last team standing in the golden halls of Hall of Heroes, dancing in joy and watching that chest pop out those golden goodies for the umpteenth time. But you can't, because you never get a decent enough group!

Now I can't say I've been having too MUCH of these troubles, but I've had my fair share of bad groups. I've won HoH a few times too, so I know what I'm talking about!

I'm making a group just for HoH and having fun! If you know you're good, and you want to be in a friendly party environment with people with a good sense of humour AND don't mind losing to good opponents, post here! It's like a guild, cept we don't have to pay for a sigil!

Wont work, too many people on at different times. Well, i cant really explain it, but it wont work. And just join a pvp guild, when you get lucky in a good match getting to hoh, add everyone and ask everyone if you can joint heir guild, ive had 2 good guilds just from that.

Already a topic for this one which is old and this channel is pretty much the conclusion we've come to in it. Noone seems to see it hence we have only three including myself in there atm.

I think it will work. All the PvP players I've met are virtually in the EST timezone or one or two hours give or take. And in case you didn't read my first post, I'm already in a guild.

Make that four.

I can offer a bit of advice and possibly even a solution.

Advice is simple, get a headset. Heck, steal your sister's Ipod ear phones if you must. Anything that goes from the PC to your Ear and produces a sound kind of resembling music or (better yet) human voice will do. A Microphone attached to said device is nice but not crucial.

Next step is find someone with a Ventrilo server. (google or www.ventrilo.com)
As Ventrilo server's can't be run off an end-user's PC* (Thats you.) you're much less likely to find your team mates sound like 4 inch tall swamp monsters with a bad cold. If you use that other Voice communication (aka Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP) program then... er. I'm sorry. ;p

Voice Comm, for all it's current short comings and flaws, is simply better. One thing to remember, Ventrilo doesn't REPLACE in game chat, it SUPPLEMENTS and COMPLIMENTS in game chat. Control + L Click/Space Bar is far Superior to saying "I have cripple on me" and expecting your teammates to actually know who you are and to find your slightly pink health bar. Calling targets without Ventrilo though... forget it. Couldn't pay me to do it. Sure, initial target is ease, but unless you just found the greatest spike build since (heh) or you're facing a team that thinks all monks are good for is healing, you'll most likely be target switching to, erm, forgot I'm not writing a guide to PvP.

The solution I may be able to offer is my Ventrilo server. Yes, I pay some bucks a month for its hosting, but it's free to use. I'm going to say this only once and it's your only warning; it is heavily moderated and anyone being annoying, stupid, offensive, or disturbing will be banned. Thats it, no questions or warnings. As a guide to what will get you banned, just use your head, racism? Yup. Sexual harassment? You bet. Acting 15? Sure thing. Being 15? Ice Cube's chance in a microwave, but you got a chance. ^^ If you didn't understand the last paragraph, please, don't waste your time connecting or my time banning, thanks.

It's nice if you ask me (Zero in Ventrilo) or any other "main" admins permission to use the server, but if you're just using an empty team room and not bothering anyone then you have nothing to worry about. =] Main Admins have a private office at the bottom of channels BTW.

P.S. There may or may not be another voice communication program some people use.[OPINION] It sucks. I don't wanna hear about it. Thats pretty fair I think, because we can barely hear anything on it![OPINION] If someone wants to write about it, please do. Choice is good. As long as that choice is Ventrilo, Vodka, and Venti.

Intended Purpose of Build: My W/Mo I made so I can almost be a one man army in PvE (it works) and some in PvP. I made my Mo/R so I would get picked more quickly in HoH, lol. But I have found I an equally good with them both.

It took me 2 seconds to find a solution to your problem. DONT PLAY A W/MO.

Or rather, don't play a healing War/Mo. Then again, PUGs assume all War/Mos are healing War/Mos, rather than say...ones with damage output via JI and SoH.
Or a War/Mo running bonds. But of course, 75% of PUGs standing around in Tombs trying to put something together are generally going nowhere unless its off time.

Intended Purpose of Build: Mo/E is a typical healing monk, but I'm starting to use more and more protection it seems like. N/Me is a curse/domination/inspiration thingie that just tries to suck opponent's (usually monks) energy supply dry. I really change this build around all the time, trying to test out what works best for me.

Timezone, and how many hours you play a day: Central time zone, I tend to play at least 6 hours a day...pretty random times.

Personality: I hate being the "leader" and I feel way more comfortable when there's a stratedgy going into the battle. I'd much rather just do my job and follow further directions as things come up. I'm not that competitve if it's all in good fun, but repeating stupid mistakes annoys me.

Fame/Rank: 13 fame...I like it, fits my character well
