Anyone else find it annoying when they are looking for a group, and see someone else in the chat channel also looking for a group, that you have to play "hunt the player" in a crowded district.
I think it would be very handy if clicking on a person's name in the chat pane, whilst in a public area, also caused you to select them (ie like clicking on their character would).

Type in their name into party tab & click the + or hit enter, that makes them part of your party. You can also hold down ctrl to see names but thats almost meaningless if there are alot of people around.

Maybe if there was an option when you clicked on someone's name in the chat screen, it would change the color of their name (like red for example) over their head while you hold down ctrl. Personally I really like the way EQ has it set up. If you want to search for a merchant, person, or whatever, you just follow this "light ray" trail to them.

You can type /invite Player's Name. So when you whisper them just click on their name and copy paste it after /invite

click their name, ctrl-c to copy, then ctrl-v to paste it in your invite window...takes about 2 secs

Still not ideal this whole copy and paste/typing effect. Especially because the names have spaces and whatnot in them. I would think clicking a name in chat would automatically "Select" the player as well [maybe with a double click] for Trade/Invite purposes. [how hard can it be?]
Although i personally think it wouldnt hurt to put more CONTEXT SENSITIVE menus in the chat window. For example, right click on a name you get a menu with all the options i.e. invite/trade/ignore .
On top of that, same thing for ITEMS. If you played Anarchy Online you would know what i'm talking about. You "virtually" drop an item into the chat window [trade channel] and all users can then right-click/hover over the item to see it's specs. So all you type is WTS: [drop item in chat] .
