Battle Lengths
Wittigo
I just preordered the game this afternoon, so I haven't had a chance to participate in a beta event yet, and I was wondering how long battles last. PvE? PvP? Guild vs Guild? and so on. Thanks guys.

Technically its not a question that could be definitively answered. WAY too many variables. (skill of player/players...number of enemies..etc etc)
It could be anywhere from a couple seconds to a few minutes... too random of a question.

I was mostly just wondering what the range of times was, so, thanks for the answer.

I didn't do much PvE last BWE so i cant give you info on that but pvp each battle usually takes around 2 min but Guild Vs. Guild, arena and tombs consist of numerous battles. GvG in my experience usually take 30-60 min while tombs and arena it largely depends on how well your team does because if you keep winning you keep playing. Longest I played arena was 2 and 1/2 hours but its more common to play 10-20 min with a decent team. Tombs is tough though I have gotten to the last round but never won and time is hard to say for that because sometimes you get boosted up the ladder and play hard battles early.
This is just in my experience so... take it for what its worth

There are a lot of different types of combat in the game.
PVE missions last roughly 45 minutes, on average, in my experience.
Arena combat (4v4 PVP with random teammates and enemies) lasts about 5 minutes. If you win, your team stays. If you lose, you go back to the arena lobby.
Tombs (8v8 organized teams, tournament format) matches vary in length. The early fights last maybe 10 minutes, but each map is a little different.
There are King of the Hill type matches with countdown timers, typically 8 minutes. The team holding the altar when the countdown ends wins.
There is a run-the-relic (like Capture the Flag) map with a countdown timer as well, again around 8 minutes. The team that has the most points (scored by capturing the other team's relic) when the timer ends wins.
Then there are some deathmatch maps where you fight multiple teams- 8v8v8, etc...Those can last quite a while.
-Guild vs Guild matches seem to last 30-45 minutes on average, but if one team is markedly better than the other it can be as short as 10-15 minutes. It's hard to win GvG matches any faster than that.

If the teams are evenly matched a GvG battle can go over an hour easily.
