need help with my level 20elementalist/monk
The Great Al
throughout the game i've been a Fire elementalist, the attribute points are up to like 13, with a rune...i've also put points into healing, and energy storage...i've now reached the crystal desert, which is pretty much a spellcaster's nightmare, as it seems all of my spells get cut off, and since the enemies dont really band together, many fire spells are useless and just waste energy. after this, i will be heading to southern shiverpeaks, which im sure fire is strongest for...but after that, and when i do some PvP battles, which element should i be strongest in?

Against interrupters, like the ranger Devourers, Enchanted Bows, even Giants that stomp, etc.. It's best to stay at your maximum casting range. Let the warrior(s) run in, and you stay behind as far as you can (should be a little bit further than the aggro range). From there you can cast whatever you want without ever getting interrupted, or stomped.
Actually, weak casters should always play like that in a party, not only against interrupters.
About the second part, all elemental types have there uses. I vote Fire for PvE, almost everywhere, though. But for PvP it depends more on what your team needs or wants.

Alternately, do the opposite: get right into the enemy's face, and use the many elementalist spells that have casting times of under a second, but are usually point-blank range (e.g. Flame Burst, Shock, Aftershock, etc). Those spells hardly ever get interrupted, simply because their casting time is too short. However, you need to be built to stand the kind of punishment you'll take on the front lines. If you aren't into earth magic or a secondary warrior, that might be a problem for you, although perhaps some protection spells or things like Shield of Judgement could be used (but I don't know, I haven't tried that approach).
