i've been waiting for this game for a few months. i've played wow for awhile and got tired of blizzard. i've tried city of hero's and that game is bad.

i've watched the videos and i can't wait for this to come out...i haven't been in a beta yet but will be this weekend.

i've wanted to know what the downsides of this game are?

Umm, Lack of Sleep from playing all night?
RSI from playing too long?
Neglect of family, friends and society in general?

Seriously though, if you want something with very deep roleplaying and lots of 'everyday life' things to do, such that you can essentially lead a virtual life inside the game, you won't find that here. Other than that, I don't think there are any downsides.

Malnutrition can also be a problem...gotta remember to eat!

Are you in a relationship? If so then you will find out the downside, unless your significant other also enjoys Guild Wars.

Change!

The biggest downside is change because you'll argue alot while doing it, and then the whole thing hits you and you can't wait to do it some more knowing how it works now. Of course the sudden need for a new pc and a high speed connection are kinda upside, but could be downside if you're really poor so try not to think about it if you are, I don't think about it.
